Crushers received the ball and moved downfield just as the coach had drawn it up...reverse the field, outnumber the offside defenders, rack up some casualties, score on T8. All went perfectly, the only downside being the apo was drawn out when Cleftchin had his hip smashed.

But the coach was happy. The team was in an excellent position following their first drive for a 1-0 or perhaps a 2-0 victory, especially with the wizard still held in reserve.

So the Crushers kicked off for Denny Crane's T8...and things went downhill. Grim knocks over and BHs Painlove...then Bilerot is KILLED by the dwarf dp. All of a sudden, instead of being up 12-11, the Crushers are down 10-11, with two Chaos Warriors (with guard) out of action.

So the Dwarfs receive the ball in the second half with a one player advantage, and by the end of T2 its up to 3.

The Crushers try to stay in it, but can't break the stunty armor, and most of their players are having to pick themselves up each turn so hits are limited. The Dwarfs on the other hand, have surrounded the Chaos players and are playing knock-about with them. Not even the mighty Minotaur is causing them any worries.

In desperation the coach deploys the wizard on a grouping of longbeards hoping to open up a whole thru which the team can blitz the runner, but none of the dwarfs even gets stunned.

They continue to drive, steadily piling up the bodies until the match is a foregone conclusion. The game went to OT, but it was 10 on 5 by then, and there was no way to stem the beardy tide.

Overall, a very frustrating match. To have done so well in the 1st half (even though the luck was about 57-72 in the dwarfs favor) to just watching player after player knocked out of the game...very discouraging.

I really felt I was in a great position at the end of my drive, but those two T8 casualties on my CWs was the clincher.

Good game Neophyte. You certainly didn't do anything that would cause me to state I deserved the win. But 8-4 cas and a +19% luck rating sure helped your cause!

Good luck with the rest of the tourney. The Crushers will retire to [R], lick their wounds, and look to regroup vs. this setback.
