What a game, what a game, what a game!

Lizards went into this match with dread. Two of their best sauri, and the only ones with break tackle or tackle, had been MNG the previous game, along with two skinks(including the kicker.) As if things weren't bad enough, two of the sauri got into an argument before the match over who was better, and they didn't want to play together(Greatest.) With only 3 sauri and a krox to bash things, they were unsure on how the game would fare.

Their opposition were very inexperienced when compared to the Lizards, but with 5 of the Lizards not playing, it would still be a rough match. The Nightcrawlers also had a killer block/MB/RSC blitzer who loved to eat little skinks.

They won the coin toss, and decided to receive. Things started off well; they knocked down most of the line and BH a linerat on a foul. For the first four turns, the Lizards were able to draw the Nightcrawlers to one side of the feild and then run to the opposite side. Things were going great, and the Second Strongest Lizard(a MA8 Frenzy Saurus) had already pushed two Nightcrawlers into a bloodthirsty crowd, dealing a KO and a SI. More Nightcrawlers joined the two sent into the crowd, as more were KO'd and the Lizards roughest skink, who skilled up block last game, BH a rat.

Then came T5...

Things were going great, the Lizards had suckered the Nightcrawlers AGAIN into running to one side of the pitch. The Lizard broke free a hole and set up the other side the field. All moves were done, only the ball carrier was left. A single simple dodge and then freedom. But that Skink was a known Nuffle blasphemer, and Nuffle showed him what happens to them that curse Nuffle. The dodge failed, but Nuffle deigned to keep the skink on the field to show him more pain. The ball was knocked free, though. The Nightcrawlers grabbed the ball and moved it down field. The Lizards rushed as quick as they could to stop them. The lizards were able to tie up all but the Ball carrier. The ball carrier rushed for the goal line, but was unable to reach it. The Lizard's star Saurus. ran at him, knocking him down and breaking loose the ball. The Lizards were so glad that they had chosen him as the Greatest and not the other one.

The ball was free, but the day was not won yet. The lizards rushed for the ball, but it was just out of reach. They set one skink back to prepare to score. Then the Nightcrawlers struck.

The fallen rat jumped up and ran for the endzone, preparing to catch the ball for a TD. The rest of the Nightcrawlers stood up from their prone positions to watch. The AG4 thrower ran to the ball...but our diving tackle skink stopped him in his tracks!

The crowd ate another Nightcrawlers then, and he was KO'd. The skinks handled the ball down the field, easily scoring on T8.

It was now a 10 vs 9, in the lizards favor. Things were looking good. All the lizards had to do was force the Nightcrawlers into scoring early, and then slowly score for the win.

The Nightcrawlers did as the lizards wished, and the Lizards were even able to BH the Nightcrawlers' star bltizer. The skinks felt much safer, and it was their turn to recieve.

Perfect Defense! And the ball ends up in the endzone, in a corner! The Nightcrawlers' gutter runner, had learned nothing from the first half, and set up too close to the sideline! Eat crowd Runner! The runner was able to avoid SI from the crowd, but he was off the field. The Lizards moved the ball to the halfway marker on their side of the pitch. The coach did make a stupid error and went for two 1die blocks with his skinks as opposed to a 2die, and one skink fell. The Nightcrawlers ganged up on the skinks, beating them towards the sideline...almost too close to the sides. Luckily for them, the Lizards' Second Strongest Lizard was on the opposite side of the pitch dealing with the Nightcrawlers' AG4 thrower. Then the Nightcrawlers did something that infuriated the Great Yumtum-Papa Lizard. They fouled a downed skink. Roaring in rage, the Great Yumtum rushed towards the offending rats. Feeling as though he had enough strength, he blocked two at once! But what unluck! Double skulls! The ball had, however, moved to the Line of Scrimmage.

The Nightcrawlers used this gap to blitz down the ball carrier. They grabbed the ball and threw it down field to the hands of one of their blitzers...the very slippery hands. THe ball was not caught. Called to action again, the Second Strongest Lizard rushed the Nightcrawler, knocking him down.

The skinks who once needed saving from the Papa Lizard, now avenged him. They threw one of the Nightcrawlers to the crowd! Only a stun, but he was gone for now!

The ball was not protected thoroughly though. Nightcrawlers rushed the ball, picked it up and threw it to a rat. While he was dangerously close to the sidelines, he was protected by two rats. Two Nightcrawlers were not enough to stop the Second Strongest Lizard though, and the ball carrier met the crowd with a crunch. Though only stunned, the Nightcrawlers were running out of players on the pitch.

The crowd was so pleased by the lizards giving them a new 'friend' that they threw the ball to a saurus, who caught it in two TZ! Things were looking great, but instead of covering the ball carrier properly, the Second Strongest Lizard decided to defend a skink instead...fatal mistake. The ball was one die blocked free. THe non-agi4 thrower dodged out, without reroll for insurance, picked up the ball, threw it to a linerat, who caught it! The Lizards were not amused. While the Second Strongest Lizard had caused them to gain huge advantages each drive, he may have just cost them the game.

But no, there was still 3 turns left. The lizards recieved and easily bashed down the Nightcrawlers. They ran the ball closer and closer to the endzone. On T16, the rats blitzed down the ball carrier, but the AG4 thrower stunned himself on a dodge. T16...all the Lizards had to do was pick up the ball, handoff and run for the tie. Simple really.

If only that Skink had not cursed Nuffle before the game. Just as he got to the ball, he stumbled on a tuft of grass. He did not fall, but instead he kicked the ball away from him by accident! Before he knew where the ball had gone, the buzzer sounded and the game was over.

It was a heartbreaker loss for the Lizards. While they thought the game would be tough going in, after bashing up a few Nightcrawlers they felt much better. Things were going so well for them, but in the critical moments, they failed!

A good game, overall. Now I've got my full squad, neither apoth was used, and only a single MNG to show for the match. The Lizards didn't bring in much gold this game, but they have enough stockpiled for emergencies. Surprisingly, the crowd did not give away a FF to either team, even though many Nightcrawlers were given to them.

Rematch anytime, Truckerpunk.

#15 Thritt – Broken Ribs (MNG)
This was a rally close and intense game... One of the better. The Nightcrawlers had little experience in playing slippery little lizzies... And boy was that clear!!! They had only played one team of lizards in their entire career. The Lizards 0f ¥umtum Mountain had the Nightcrawlers running round the pitch like headless skinks of a majority of the game. But the Nightcrawlers pulled themselves together in time of despair, and showed some true slippery rat play. The Lizzies sure made it REALLY difficult for the Nightcrawlers to conduct their usual fast-deep-run-long-pass-play... And that frenzy Saurus caught the cocky rats of guard time after time... What a superb player!!! Lot's of up and downs in this game, for both teams, just what makes a game of BB really exciting. A great opponent to play and a a really good game. The rats pulled through once more... But a really tight game.

Good game WindexChugger. Really enjoyed it!! That was what BB is all about...

(Might have to change my Profile bio... As of now it reads: "**No Lizards or Dwarfs... I find those games boring**. ... But Damn this game was far from boring!!!)
