16th match vs Shputnik goes (B)(Chaos Dwarves). The Alps had not yet seen a Chaos Dwarf team in real life before. And seeing the huge bulls with dwarves as heads made some impression. "Did your Mommie got raped by a bullfucker?" Alex shouted when the game started to make them angry and defocus on the game. The crowd loved it and started to sing a song about it the whole half. But the crazed dwarves werent very receptive of it and worked the first part of their assault perfectly They seemed to have a lot of voices in their heads and seemed to ignore their surroundings perfectly. But Bull Centaur did let off some steam in his first block against Klaas. Klaas didnt see the hoof coming and was hurt badly. After a slow advance by the dwarves Kees managed to catch them off guard while lying inside the cage the hobgoblin was in and blitst him only to see the ball bounce back into the cage. A rumble followed, another hobgoblin picked u the ball, but yet again downed by Kees. Now Virgil caught the bouncing ball, but wasnt focussed on the big troll next to him and got stunned by the big fists. Now the ball fell into the crowd, which happened to be humans. They threw the ball to the other side of the pitch. An amazing throw, by some retired thrower we think. Henk and Matthijs were to first to get to the ball and picked it up. But the Bull centaur was right behind em, blitsing Henk who let slip of the ball. A rumble followed which involged two humans blitser and a catcher, versus a bull centaur and a hogboblin. Neither won before the end of the half, 0-0.
2nd half was our drive. The Alps didnt make a attacking rush in the first minutes of the half. They stood their ground and with Jaap out of CD-reach they left a few lines open to lure some of them. They took the bait, bigtime, 2 Bull Centaurs and 2 Hobgoblins came rushing in and left their defense wide open. A good throw and a good catch by Virgil and the Alps were off. Out of hobgoblin reach Virgil could make a clean run to the TD-line. 1-0. Now to hold off the Chaos Dwarf stampede for the remainder of the game. A failed block by a Chaos dwarf was made use of by the Alps. They rushed in and Kees even picked up the ball on their side of the pitch. The flabbergasted goblins were called to duty by one of the Bull Centaurs and together they knocked Kees out but were reluctant to pick up the ball and wasted some valuable time. They made slow progress and the Alps formed some good defence. Finally the agile hobgoblin was ordered to make a move. Matthijs managed to get in a rumble with him, aided by Steffan. The held him back and time was ticking in our advantage. 1-0, a marginal win a rough match.
