“This was going to be a pacey game, and the good blood bowl weather allowed this... right until a freak blizzard effected the last quarter of the match. A few spectators believed it to be caused by some dark elf witch elves up to no good in a nearby stadium!

Anyway, back to the game... With the Hornets only having 10 men to start (niggling injuries hurt you know!) the Rat Rage team got first blood early in the 1st half, which was quickly followed by an equaliser from the Hornets team. The skaven then took the lead again, leaving the humans 1-2 down at half time.

However, the Hornets were quick to make amends early in the 2nd half, levelling through the agileness of another human catcher... 2-2. Just as the skaven team were about to receive the ball a blizzard rolled in... unfortunately, no-one told the skaven, especially the one who picked the ball up, that throwing it may not be a great idea... and a wayward pass landed in the hands of the Hornets scrimmage line, delighting the human coach and infuriating the skaven coach and fans!

The Hornet's coach then directed play gradually into the skaven half, and despite some eager defending it looked inevitable that the Hornets would take the lead... and they did through a nice quick pass to Doug Knuckles, who is not known for his catching. 3-2.

Amazingly with three blitzers on the field, it was the Hornet's star thrower that caused both casualties, as well as 3 good passes... but despite this, it was Dave Nimbletoes who was judged the MVP.

A closely faught game, but the skaven armour started to come undone towards the end... and the human fans enjoyed it too... and the coach was able to hire two more players to improve his squad selection for later games. ”
