#14 Biffo – Serious Concussion (-AV)
Our necros face avien's norse. Their ogre and one of their DPs are MNG'd but will still have 14 players vs our 12 (zombie MNG'd); as always vs norse removing some early will be key. We get two handicaps of Morley's (on a single blitzer - which never keeps him off the pitch) and I am the greatest! - which will help somewhat.

We blitz a little enthusiastically with our werewolf on turn 1, leaving him standing amongst our front line rather than behind it- and by using their entire team they are able to get a 2d blitz that with a RR knocks him over and into space for a gang DP foul... luckily he's just KO'd though he won't wake up for the rest of the match.

By turn 3 they have run two players around our mob of players to tag our ghoul with the ball, and when we try and blitz-dodge him through he trips up. They steal the ball and leg it downfield, and it's only through supreme effort and plenty of luck we're able to recover the ball and run back upfield to get in range by the end of the half. The norse run out of rerolls and have to try some difficult moves to stop us - eventually failing a GFI and so we can make it 1-0 just before half time!

We have a zombie -AV'd, another KO'd and our wolf KO'd, vs their apo used, a lineman MNG'd and another KO'd. But theirs wakes up while neither of ours (with 2 rolls) does!!

This means we have just 9 players for the second half vs 13. Going to need a quick touchdown or some great armour rolls by us here.. They run up one side after a touchback and we pile in to try and stop them- getting our DP sent off on his first foul of the half. They push through and score on turn 2. Our zombie wakes up so we still have just 9 vs 13... looks difficult now.

And they make it extremely hairy by our second turn with the ball- we are surrounded and are forced to start the turn with 2 1d blocks to try and make some space. We get push backs which isn't ideal but also isn't failure, and we reposition slightly- though fortunately a 2d block vs their blodge catcher gets a POW and a KO! This also means they have a little trouble getting at the ball, and we are eventually able to dodge upfield with it. They chase after it, dodging well but not rolling the block dice they need to dislodge the ball. Their best chance comes on turn 7 when they engineer a 2d tackle blitz on him... and roll double skulls with no RRs left! We score on turn 8 in style, the ghoul badly hurting the lineman marking him before strolling in the winner!

Great game avien, really enjoyed it though we certainly scraped through by the skin of our teeth a few times!
