“Rough one! First round of a Scheduled Smack Elite.

I think I played a pretty solid game overall. One of my better strategic and tactical matches (with one notable exception). My biggest problem was Texan's injury dice, which absolutely brutalized me. Halfway through the first half his luck was 79%, mostly from taking out 3 guys for the game. I managed to sneak in the back door with a touchdown on my drive, with 5 or 6 players left for that drive. I dug into my bench for replacements and held the Pacifists at bay the rest of the half, squelching a near TD with a chainsaw-wielding blitz to stun the Count 3 squares from the goal line, and bringing a total of 4 guys to mark the ball.

The second half continued the Pacifist brutality, but my boys held firm for the most part. By T7 he'd parked the Count between a couple of guys and was ready to score. I pointed to my wizard and signaled "fireball", but my beastmen had already started moving (noob!) so he sat back down and sulked. A desperate -2db was no substitute for a fireball, and Texan scored to force OT, where I had 6 players.

A clean, spotless pitch later and I was congratulating Texan on his win and his 2000th Ranked game. He earned Count money in the game, so I'm thinking his next opponent is in trouble :)”
