#1 Maria – Dead (RIP)
“A great game. I was looking forward to seeing how amazons could play like orcs and I wasn't disappointed.
Our team played well (i.e. I rolled well) when they needed to and with this we've secured a first place in the conference and a trip to premier next season. Only downside was the loss of Maria on the last turn, but werewolves are quick to skill up and the winnings from this game were nearly enough on their own.
We won the toss and I chose to kick, because we really wanted a win, and so I wanted to know whether or not to stall out on our receive. It nearly backfired as Rob was fouled right out of the game on the first turn. Fortunately his roar was loud enough to draw the ref's attention and Face Slappa was sent off.
While the amazons were busy arguing the call, Mike and Cameron ran the ball down and with some excellent work from Cameron (k.o'd ball carrier, favourable bounce caught, survived a rerolled 2d blitz and dodged away) we reached a favourable position of 1-0 up. Causing this distraction and getting Face Slappa sent off was enough to earn Rob the MVP.
The next drive our defense did reasonably well, but in the end after an argument over who would blitz and Steve failing to force his way towards the ball carrier Grab Snatcha got away for 1-1.
Second half we wanted to stall, and Mike held the ball at the back uncontested for a good while. Once he came forward, a fumbled handoff was rescued by Cameron and he ran into the corner. With the amazorcs on their way across the field he decided it was safer to score. 2-1
This left 3 turns for the amazorcs to equalise. After a good kick and a solid defensive setup, the last turn left only two well marked players in range. Some taunting from Maria led to her death but distracted the more likely of the two potential scorers enough to secure the win. It was a most honorable death and she will be missed.

The girls severely underestimated the ability of the wolves and ghouls to run circles around them, and paid the price. Failing to secure the ball at the start of the match, they gave away a freebie touchdown to start the match. Anyway, they fortunately did learn from it, and were able to secure the ball on the second attempt. The necro defence was tight, and with limited time, it took a bit of luck to get them over the line, equalising the score at half time.
Half time score: 1-1
We played a tight defence in the second half, but were completely impotent when it came to removing key players. Unable to knock them down, let alone foul them like we needed (not that we had a DP on the pitch, but fouls always make you feel better). When we finally managed to put some pressure on the ball carrier, Cameron snatched up the loose ball, and ran right past the slow amazons, who couldn't seem to do a thing about it.
With enough time to attempt for yet another equaliser, that's what we did. This time, however, the defence proved too good, and we were unable to make the distance.

Cameron certainly earned his pay this match. Making good use of his skills to score the two touchdowns needed to win the match. Not to mention simply being all round scary!

One of the most annoying players on the pitch. This ghoul was always in the way, making it quite a challenge to get the ball where we wanted.

Steve is a pain to play against. The combination of ST5 and stand firm made him very hard for us to deal with. One man roadblock... and he hits stuff good.”
