“This was a tough match, as the 1-0 score indicates. Gravel Fist opted to kick off in the first half, and were fortunate enough to prevent the Non Blondes from scoring, though it was hairy at times. I kept expecting a breakout at any time and had to keep my orcs somewhat fanned out until turn 6 when I decided to close the fence.

The second half opened up with the Blondes getting a blitz through, but the orcs were able to secure the ball and settled in for an 8 turn grind to the endzone. At one point, the Amazons got through to brand new Thrower, Xipho Thornhide, and stunned him, but a lucky bounce landed the ball in the hands of star Blitzer, Varguk Elfchewer. It was nip and tuck for a bit, but Varguk stayed safely in his cage, and the ladies were never quite able to get a hit on him until turn 7. He stayed upright, but a timely application of Strip Ball dumped the ball at his feet. The Gravel Fist orcs quickly rallied, knocking Amazons out of the way and clearing a path to the endzone. With a dodge, a pickup, and 2 GFIs, Varguk made it into the endzone with Nuffle's blessings on turn 8.

I fully expected this one to go to overtime when my opponent knocked that ball loose, and was very happy with this tough win. I salute the Fourteen Non Blondes for giving the orcs a tremendous fight.”
