Handicaps were Iron Man, Bribe the Ref2 and It Wasn't Me on his Str4 Blodge Tackle Lion Warrior

Well, some poor play early on, and a lot of cruel dice pretty much decided this game early in the second half and we just gave up and tried to damage the opposing team for Rafe in the next round to no avail.

I was sleepy first half on defence, and my fouls were also weak (nothing, stun). We didn't see a Diving Tackle (made the roll though) then did a one dice Block (skull reroll skull) when we had an assist to walk in yet. Just tired and not alert.

That did wake us up though...

He scored quickly to get his good player off the ground and behind a LOS and then it was our turn to try and score.

But it was pretty pointless as we rolled seven snakes and double skulls by early into the second half to lose the ball and be 0-2 down.

Our T8 attempt to score got us to two GFI to get in the endzone, then it was a 2+ hand off and 3+ pass and 2+ catch to score, but our 2 GFI netted us 2 ones from three rolls (first was team rerolled) and no score.

Essentially, we rolled snakes or 1s chewing up RR (to then get Double Skulls etc) nearly every time we tried to handle the ball early on.

In fact, we lost the ball to yet another snakes - Thrower missed a Throw to inside the cage.

I can't make 2+ but my opponent can as he picks up the ball and passes it away.

I use the Wizard to get the ball free, and make a Long Pass with the Thrower. Run to close the cage and what happens, yet another Snake.

This opened up the cage for him when his Wizard downed one with a fireball and let him blitz the ball, steal and score. If I hadn't failed that GFI to close the cage, it would have been very hard for him to steal the ball as there were more squares blocked (and I had 3 other players to move yet who had the a dodge (with Dodge skill) to clog it all up.

But that snake was critical and I was left with 40 Luck vs 60 for the first 12 turns.

At 0-2 down, and with him still with his super players (Str4 Tackle, MA9 Blodgers) I went for the foul and exposed the ball for another blitz (I had given up by then as 40 luck was just no fun). We had lost the Get the Ref roll too despite having 2 higher FF.

He got perfect scatter and ran the ball deep. My turn to try and blitz (not easy without Tackle) but we rolled 2 ones (one rerolled) from 3 rolls (our GFI) to fall down. Yep, Nuffle was determined I would not be competitive this game.

He scored and we were 3-0 down.

We again went the foul and he put the pressure on my ball carrier who had to make a Long Bomb (because my two dice Blitz on his Blockless and Dodgeless Thrower blocking up one path came up with Push and Skull) and we avoided the 5+ intercept and got a consolation TD.

As I said early on, I didn't play my best early on, and later on I gave up, but the dice made this game pointless for me in relation to trying to score or send the game to OT as I couldn't make an important ball handling roll (be they even 2+ with reroll) until I was 0-3 down with 1 or 2 turns to go.

Meanwhile my opponent never had to do much to win this game - he certainly didn't play bad - but when one side keeps rolling 1s and the other doesn't accumulate bad rolls at critical times, it is pretty much game decided regardless of skill and tactics when there are +AG and high MA players on the pitch.
