After a period of inactivity, the Raiders & Corsairs took once more to the pitch for yet another thrilling game of bloodbowl. The coach wasn't happy to see blitzer Balneth Bale niggle out, leaving only 10 dark elves to start the game with. Bale was fired after the game anyway, no use for an injured player in this team!

Things didn't look too well at the start. Turn one saw Arleth Vann brutally removed from the pitch by the opposing rat ogre; he'll need another match to recover. Hauclir, the strong team captain, got ko'd in turn two as well, leaving now only 8 Raiders on the pitch. Yet the skaven got overconfident, focusing on maiming the opposing team and forgetting all about the ball. Classic mistake that would cost them dearly. Valtiren ended up at the touchdown line with no opposition whatsoever to threathen him. Why should he score and then be put on the line against that brute of a rat ogre? No, if the skaven play stupid, let us rather dodge out of their claws, hit them back where we can and keep the ball safe. It took a while before the dumb rats realized what was going on. Then, decided the coach, it was time to put the ball down.

Hauclir returned, recovered from the blow to his head. Strong, fast and agile he's just made for this game. The Raiders developed a solid defense under his skillful leadership, filling up holes where they were created. Nevertheless it seemed nigh impsossible to stop those rats, especially the lightning fast and agile gutter runners. Despite the solid wall of purple and black hateful spite and determination, the sneaky little rat carrying the ball somehow managed to dodge through and scored the equalizer right before half-time. Oaths were sworen it wouldn't happen again...

The second half started with the Raiders & Corsairs kicking. The opposing vermin however was too eager to score, and neglected a proper cover of the gutter carrying the ball. Time for a daunting and opportunistic move, decided the Raiders' coach. After so many years on the field, he didn't even need to point it out to his players. Their wicked intellect and understanding of the game was enough to move in some assists and blitz the ballcarrier. The sneaky little git never even saw it coming. Hehe! The poor little bastard was ko'd and the ball popped free. Serves him right! Yet, after the scatter the ball landed in the middle of a throng of rats and elves. Nobody could get to it, so it was important to protect it first and then to try to push someone on it. That's what eventually happened after some rough pushing and bickering. In the end, a lone elf managed to pick up the ball and run free.

Still, it was far from safe. They may be weak, small, and ugly as hell, but the coach knew very well that rats are fast! So the game wasn't over. Yet. Sound team discipline, steel nerves and solid positioning would be the decisive factors. In the end, a seasoned team like the Raiders & Corsairs, never despairing, never giving up and never panicking, even when outnumbered, proved its worth once more on Nuffle's battlefield and secured yet another well-earned victory!

@Dark Skino: good game, my first since a while, so I had good fun. Here are some hints:
- try to better protect your ballcarrier! You gave me a relative easy 2d blitz on your ball carrier that cost you the game. You should avoid this at all costs.
- always put pressure on the ballcarrier when your opponent has the ball! Especially skaven are very good at doing this. Doing so, you will oblige me to score fast so that you have a lot of time to score back, or else, in case I continue to stall, I will have to take the risk of losing the ball.
- pay attention to positioning. Yes rats are fast, but even for them positioning is important. You should always have 1 player, preferrably even 2 players, within blitz distance of my ball carrier. And don't put all your rats on the line of scrimmage when kicking. Even though I opted not to engage (which indeed might have saved you some stuns/ko's/casualties), you gave me an easy option to just bypass you with half my team and control pretty much of the first half.
