#8 Dennis Nelmchov – Dead (RIP)
Very interesting game this one, much happier with my play compared to the first game. The Stallions won the toss, elected to receive, and went about business.

However the Norse shock machine soon putted out, and with some exceptional positional play from Red I was like a headless chicken running around trying to find a safe pocket.

As the half wore on again and again SMASH! refused 1 die blitzes or 2 die with a dodge or 2 on the ball carrier, instead wishing to contain and wait for the mistake.

This was when Boris came into his own, playing a perfect match, the team had a near faultless last 2 turns allowing me to get in 'just' for an extremely fortunate 1st half lead.

The 2nd half I didn't have much of a team to defend and now Red had a big decision to make. Stall for the draw, or score to play 6 turns of defense against a team with injuries, morleys and heatstroke. Red elected to score early setting up for a tense finish.

However, I got no heatstroke victims where SMASH had 2. With my 2 morleys this left an 8 on 8 situation.

The last few turns were tense, but again SMASH! played too conservative in my opinion, even with the great positional play. A last turn blitz (which i mucked the position up on) allowed Illiev (who was planning his farewell party in the offseason) to run home for his 12th TD.

Thanks for the great match! Good luck with the rest of your season

3points for #3 St Analcletus - great name, well suited. A real pain in the anal area.
2 points for #8 St Telesphorus - good container, did his job well.
1 point for #5 St Pontain - Scored, fans loved him and gave me the opportunity to score again, well done that Saint!

I have taken your criticism on board from this game and will play the odds a little less.

We really got burnt by the odds tonight. forcing you into plays that we thought had a good chance of failing or us containing, they just spilled out of control at the last minute and you got out on top. Forcing so many 1D blocks and dodges with none of them coming back to hurt you, hurt me and im still smarting a little from this game.
You took all your chances and made the right decisions and where rewarded accordingly, so good coaching on that. I don't actually blame you for getting lucky on this one :P

I will say though. FU HEATSTROKE and MORLEYS.

Hope this isn't a whole season of near misses. I want some near hits.

True to form St Urban aged -av on his 16spps skill roll. We are battling to combat aging on a really young team. It's making the season harder than it should be.

Twahns:

3 - #7 Boris Nuriev - controlled the pill. kept calm amidst some decent pressure and made the game.

2 - #8 Dennis Nelmchov - A TD and some decent blocking.

1 - #14 M'grak G'thrak - gave the Norse some hurting power.
