#16 Stompy – Dead (RIP)
B Minors - Semifinal

Our orcs are up against Dakkon12's undead in what looks to be a star-studded game. We've hired Morg n Thorg, and they have hired the Count. They have plenty of DPs and a squad of 16 vs our 14, plus get one handicap (palmed coin) - looks difficult! (TS difference of 14 + handicap in their favour)

We kick and the ball lands in their endzone (sweet!) so they have to run their ghoul back as cover while their sure handed wight picks it up. The count blitzes forwards into our half (while they KO our troll with a gang foul), so we charge in 4 players to tackle blitz him over and then DP foul him... badly hurt and no regen! That's a massive thorn in our side removed!!

They counter by fouling out a block/guard BoB for a BH while moving the ball forwards, though they quickly retreat back to their endzone with it on turn 3 when things start looking dangerous for them in the middle of the park. We try and take out their only ghoul on the pitch but can't knock him over with our tackle/MB blitzer despite 2dice rerolled.

On their turn they make a 4+ dodge with the ghoul to get a 2dice block on morg, followed up with a gang foul that -MA injures him! We burn up the apo to keep him on the pitch, then chase 2 blitzers after their wight, not managing to knock him over. They manage to get their ghoul and a zombie back, but a good turn from us (using up our final reroll on a 1d block to open things up) lets us 2d blitz their wight for a stun, with the ball caught by our AGI4 blitzer. In return they foul for the third (or fourth?) time in a row with the eye on them, KO'ing Morg and planting a sidestep ghoul by our ball carrier. We tackle him over and make it 1-0 on turn 6!

*KRAK* It's a sniper in the stands! One of their star mummies has been KO'd! With only 2 turns til half time they have to rush things, and push both ghouls into our half alone on T7 while a wight grabs the ball at the back. We get tacklers galore around their ghouls but can't knock one over, but fortunately they still can't get the touchdown.

Half time and their snipered mummy stays KO'd while our troll wakes up - looking good for us despite having taken 7 DP fouls without removing any of the zombie foulers :P

At kick off our fans get the ref (though our DP is sitting on the bench so we aren't tempted to take the eye off the undead), and we badly hurt one zombie and KO another to get a decent number advantage. They only manage a stun on their foul and we then push through, using our Morg / +2 players / missing-mummy advantage to get the ball into their half, safely surrounded by our players. By turn 4 we've got it by their endzone and they don't have many ways to get at it. The following turn a wight KILLS one of our block lineorcs, though their roster is too full to be able to raise him as a zombie, and the turn after that the same wight MNG's a blitzer with a 1d block. Ouch! We stall out the final two turns, opting not to score as the win is secure, finally making our second foul of the game on our last turn (stunning that mean wight). They make their tenth foul (!!) on T16 but also only manage a stun.
