“This was my 3rd Black box match. Drawing a pretty good looking Necro team. In the first half I thought things were going to go my way by getting the coin toss and receiving first. The very first turn I opened up with a BH against one of his zombies and skilled up my Mummy Iron. However he started getting some BHs of his own and a few KOs and pretty soon it looked like he was going to be able to wrestle the ball away from me. I think he had about 10 or 9 players to my 8 or 7 players left on the pitch. However I was able to deftly move one of my ghouls to pass to the other reversing the direction and getting far enough away from the rest of players where only a wight could get a single block on my ghoul which he wasn't able to bring down and the next turn I was able to score. On the following kickoff I wasn't able to get any of my players back from KO but luckily did have enough to put 11 on the pitch. After a bit of driving and few blocks without any RRs my opponent made a bad block and I was able to get close enough to his ball carrier to knock the ball loose and stall his drive ending the half.

The next half sees me kicking off to him and only able to field 10 players on the pitch to his 11 but as he pointed out I still had all my positionals except for one ghoul. So he starts getting read to make a good push and then we get a disconnect so we have to restart. Unfortunately I had a really good turn right at the disconnect and had actually mng one of his zombies and had the ball in good position. On the reload it was 1 move before the end of his turn but he was a very honorable opponent and fumbled the ball on purpose to get the ball back to as close as possible prior to the disconnect. While I wasn't able to get the mng on the zombie he did keep that zombie out of the rest of the match.

After some hard fighting in the middle of the pitch I was finally able to get the ball away from him and ran it far enough away that he could not score. Knocking his only dog out of the game with a BH didn't hurt either :)

All in all a wonderful match with a honorable oppponent who I would gladly play again at any opportunity.
