Game 2

Handicaps against: Buzzing (douch), Doom & Gloom, It Wasn't Me (Uncle Silas Ruthyn) plus Ambrosio the Mad Monk missed the game due to his niggling injury acting up.

The Crusaders won the toss and opted to receive. Schedoni picked it up and his teammates starting knocking elves down. I got impatient with trying to open a good hole so I took the first opening I could make and ran Schedoni for daylight. That was a mistake as he was pushed out of bounds (I think it was douch using his newfound Buzzing trait). Schedoni was KO'd and never did return to the game. I was very disappointed in both my ghouls' lack of performance this game, but Montoni and the wolves more than made up for it. Berlifitzing recruited a new zombie with a first turn foul when the 9ers' apothecary failed to revive D riggs. Their coach commented, 'That apo has failed several saves this season'. Loup-Garou was finally able to get the ball and scored. Next kickoff the Crusaders had an eye for getting the ball and they finally did when a failed block by the 9ers ball carrier dumped the ball in Ulfhednar's waiting paws. He scored before the half ended. The second half the Crusaders decided to play aggressive again and it almost didn't pay off. The 9ers were able to get the ball downfield only to be tripped up by Ulfhednar. He grabbed the ball and started heading downfield, trying to link up with Loup-Garou. The 9ers weren't going to just roll over, though, and they put up a stout defense but the lack of rerolls late in the game was too much to overcome. There was a tense moment with the ball on the ground when Ulfhednar double skulled himself but the Crusaders had covered the ball well and on the last turn, Loup-Garou blitzed douch (who couldn't pick up the ball because he was still Buzzing), then scooped up the ball and scored as time expired.

Thanks for the game, Shadeknight. You had some tough breaks early that burned through your rerolls. If your elves could have dodged and picked up the ball like, well, like elves, it could have been a different game. Good luck the rest of the season.
