“Barak Miners were in the Premiership and their first match was to be against the reigning champions Woodies on Vacation.

The Dwarves received and slowly moved the ball down the field watchful of the Wood Elves who were looking for any opportunity to steal the ball away. Eventually the Dwarves made it to the end zone to score on turn 8 for 1-0. The Wood Elves set up to attempt a quick reply, made all the more likely by a quick snap, but the pickup failed and the half remained 1-0.

The second half saw the Wood Elves attack and there was little the Dwarves could do to stop them breaking through the lines to equalise for 1-1. The Dwarves attacked again, moving players into position ready to score, however the Wood Elves had other ideas, as one Wardancer leaped in for a 1D splat on the cage ball carrier, allowing the other Wardancer to leap in after him, collect the ball dodge out and throw downfield, leaving the Dwarves with nothing from the match.

It was always going to be a tough game for the Dwarves, but somehow to have victory turned into a loss when it was all looking so good was a bitter blow, but that's life at the top level.
