“WIL Season XX

We're up against KJG's necros who boast a couple of dangerous MB wolves, a +STR wight and a +STR ghoul, but have only one tackler and no guard. They get one handicap of a bribe.

We kick first and on T2 one of the claw/MB wolfs POW blitzes one of our ghouls for a BH. Going to have to get rid of the wolves ASAP! We focus on their blodge wolf first, getting in two DP fouls on T2 and T4 to the expense of ignoring their other wolf with the ball... but all we can do is stun him twice and get a DP sent off. They run the ball into our half but with a 1d block and 4 GFIs we can 2d blitz the wolf and strip ball the ball free. It's landed under the nose of our STR7 mummy and they fail to pick it up with their sure-handed ghoul. T7 and a nice 1d frenzy from a wolf lets them chainpush the mummy and they dodge and steal it with the +STR ghoul.

Meanwhile we cannot hurt anything, for example not knocking over their no-dodge wolf on T7 with 6 dice. Frustrating! They 2d blitz through with their ghoul on T8 and double GFI to make it 1-0.

They have a single rookie zombie in the KO box as they kick off for the 2nd half so it's 11 vs 11 though we have no subs and both our missing players were good :) So far, so bad.

Still, we start well with a quick snap that lets us step our mummies forward to block wights (and then stand next to both wolves) and we score a KO and a BH. T2 another KO and on T3 when a wolf goes for a 1d blitz vs our blodge ball carrier (skull->skull) we take advantage and put in a DP foul to MNG him. The following turn we KO the other wolf and run the ball into range of the endzone. They only have 6 players left but have 2 subs + 4 in the KO box so could easily get a full squad back. Still we decide to go for the win and score on T5... and 3/4 of their KO box wakes up including the wolf and the +STR wight.. bah!

We kick off with 11 vs 11 and a blodge ghoul catches the kick... looks like we'll be fighting for the draw now! T6 and their wolf POWs a ghoul for a MNG and rushes into our backfield. T7 and their ghoul runs through ... but a wight drops the handoff! We get players all around the ball but their final turn attempt is almost perfect as they blitz a ghoul onto the ball for a friendly scatter.. their ghoul makes some dodges, a 4+ pickup ... and they drop the final handoff! Phew!
