“Good game against a fun coach, I always enjoy playing BrianVanLe. The Legion elected to kick in the first half and we moved down the field in a fairly solid cage (though not a Mega Bunker), inflicting a lot of KOs and 1 CAS. We were also able to keep the Underworld Love away and stall an extra turn, scoring on T8. 2nd half we kicked and got a Blitz! It didn't do much as the Underworld were able to get the ball and inflict some damage of their own. The Legion opted to start hurting players instead of chasing the ball, so we overcommitted to 1 side and got a good foul on a Storm Vermin who never came back. Of course, neither did Hai'kon as the ref was watching both him and He'rak very closely (both ejected). We did force a quick score with enough time left to score a TD in answer. Getting a High Kick we put the AG3 Thro-Ra, Drey'auc, under the ball and caught it easily. Then the problems started. We couldn't remove any players, and the Love team removed Bra'tac, our beastly ST 4 MB Tackle Blitz-Ra with a KO. The cage was getting bogged down and I had to reverse directions twice. Finally, the Love managed to surround the ball carrier with goblins, and we had to make our move with time running out. Pushing 1 goblin into another goblin removed 1, then our blitz removed the other (though not from the pitch sadly) and Drey'auc was able to hand off to Rya'c. A few more blocks and Anubis the Tomb Guardian leading the way, Rya'c was within easy striking distance of the endzone with just enough time left. The Underworlders made their moves and marked a bunch of players. Now it was tricky, but still doable. I needed Anubis to push the marker away so I could move an assist up and blitz the remaining Storm Vermin. After that, I could move Rya'c and start knocking people over. That's when Nuffle intervened and said, 'I think not!'. Double skulls, no reroll! Actually, it might have been skull/pow, but either way Anubis didn't have the Block skill so down he went. Agghh!

Still, it was an exciting game that the Legion came close to winning, and Coach BrianVanLe hung in there the entire time and deserves the tie for his tenacious D. Thanks for the match, Brian, and look forward to our next one. Good luck with Christer's Love.”
