“Crown Of Sand II Qualifier VII: Round 1

Although the difference in team values was large, I expected a tough match against a good coach which is what I got. I managed to pop the ball loose in the first half after Qaz left his ball carrier somewhat vulnerable, and scored in turn 7 after some help from double skulls by Ramtut.

The second half started with a blitz for the necros, which put me under a lot of pressure and forced me to backtrack to protect the ball. The necros gained an advantage in numbers thanks to their MB, piling on wolf, which is why I risked a change in flanks, sending my MA 7, blodging ball carrier through on his own, protected by a light screen. Ramtut tried to dodge through the screen, but was again undone by the loner roll, leaving me with an easy task to make it 2-0.

For the rest of the half I had two objectives: stall the necros from scoring and try protect my key players. The first I did well, the latter not so much. I used the apo on a kill on the block/leader/guard beastman, figuring that the extra reroll could be useful later in the tourney. I paid for this when the legend chaos warrior John Casey got killed later in the half by Qaz's killer wolf. Live by the clawbomb, die by the clawbomb.
