“Fun game against a fun coach. 1st half the hu-Maniax won the toss and elected to kick, figuring this would probably be the only time they would field 11 players. They were not mistaken. The hu-Maniax got a Blitz! on the kick off and managed to get near the ball but not under it. However, committing so many players to that gambit did not pay off and left them weak on the opposite side of the field. Then a few KOs and an early CAS left the hu-Maniax at a numbers disadvantage the rest of the game. The Orcs scored early enough that the humans had enough time to tie it up on T6. This left 2 turns for us to prevent another Dark Tribe score and we did. 2nd half we received and the crowd invaded the pitch. However, they took down 3 Orcs but only 2 hu-Maniax so the numbers were back to even at 8-8. Got the ball to a Blitzer and was able to eventually work around 1 side of the Tribe, scoring on T5. Was getting pressured the whole way so no chance to stall. Gave the orcs 4 turns to tie it up but felt good about our chances of preventing another TD. Then we shanked the kick out of bounds and the orcs handed the ball to a Line Orc who could skill on a TD. We did prevent that Orc from scoring, and the ball landed in Druck's waiting hands. Set up a screen and ran Mantis on an end-around to catch the pass. Now all Druck had to do was dodge away and make a Quick pass. 2, reroll 1, STUN! Brunga Brunga swooped in and scooped up the loose ball. In an act of desperation, Mantis dodged around a BoB and threw a vicious -2 die blitz that knocked Brunga Brunga out, but BoB Krash! caught the bouncing ball. The hu-Maniax finished the turn by KOing a Line Orc and Journeyman Sean Hotlighting marked Krash!. It was to no avail as the knocked Sean over and blitzed Mantis out of the way, clearing a path for Krash! to run in the tying TD as time expired.

Thanks for the game, Baluga. The dice were up and down for both of us, but I think the early misfortune I had in the 1st half put me in a hole that I was climbing out of the entire game. I'm quite happy with the tie, could have easily been a loss for me and a win for you.

Money roll was horrible, but we had enough saved up to hire on Journeyman Shinzo 'Samurai' Yamada from the practice squad. He showed a lot of heart, we definitely had some spots open, and the fans fell in love with him by the end of the game.”
