Fun match against a good coach, I figured I would have my hands full and I wasn't disappointed. Game started in the Pouring Rain and the Ogres won the toss and elected to receive. Even though the hu-Maniax had twice the FF of A saco PAco (6 FF vs. 3 FF), the spectators were tied at 10k apiece. This cost us at least 1 reroll from Kickoff events, but what can you do when the stadium is full of Ogres?

1st half both teams played hard, and I couldn't stop the Ogres score. Trakas is a BEAST (Block snotling). I must have laid 4 3-die blocks/blitzes on him and couldn't get a POW to save my life! Seriously, that guy is annoying. So the hu-Maniax had just enough time to score and almost flubbed that up. The rain was making the ball slippery for us, but we managed to get a catcher into position and get the ball to him on T8 for a TD as the first whistle blew (thank goodness we didn't need a GFI). 2nd half the ogres started getting distracted and coach Kremas was forced to burn his rerolls quickly. The hu-Maniax were having trouble putting snotlings on the ground, and got ourselves in a bit of scrum. Fortunately, we were able to get out of it and moved the ball into A saco PAco's half of the pitch. Unfortunately, we dropped the first handoff. But here is where the Ogres got REALLY distracted, with several Boneheads and a turnover on a skull/pow block. Petrify Sapp was able to pick it up on the first try and with a gfi got 1 square from the endzone and forced the Ogres to make a 2 gfi blitz to stop him. They made the dodge and the first gfi, but failed the 2nd and Sapp scampered into the endzone. 2-1. The hu-Maniax were concerned about a tying score as there was plenty of time for the Ogres to try AND the weather changed from rain to Perfect.. But the Ogres continued their boneheaded ways, giving up another turnover on a both-down block. The hu-Maniax took a gamble and swarmed the ball, creating another scrum. Eventually, they were able to clear everyone away and Claymore made a successful pickup and handoff to Mantis, who scored his 2nd TD of the game on our T8. The Ogres had 1 last chance to at least put a score on the board, and got a Quick Snap on the kickoff. The ball also landed in a favorable spot. But in keeping with their 2nd half tradition, the first block was skull/pow Both Down. At least the Ogres were consistent. Poor Coach Kremas was really frustrated at the end, but he was a great sportsman about it and we had a fun game.

Good luck to your team, and I hope we face one another again. Nice apothecary on Kraunch early in the game. Turing that RIP into a BH really kept you in the game. And you didn't lose a single snotling. My guys need to learn to hit harder :)

Skills (3):
Rashaan 'Slashin' Salaam - (5 4) Piling On. Finally, Mighty Blow/Piling On. Let the hurtin' begin!
Patrick 'Petrify' Sapp - (4 2) Tackle. Finally, we have a Tackler. Bring on the Dodgers!
Jim 'Druck' Druckenmiller - (4 3) Safe Throw. Finally, now maybe we won't fumble any more long passes. Or passes in the rain. Or the bright sun. Or in Disturbing Presence zones. Yeah, you get the picture.
