“Got very lucky in this match despite having a Perfect Defence against and two pitch invasions going against me 6-3 and 5-1.

First drive was fairly normal for 1-0. Kick into the backfield in the pouring rain helped us hold off until half time despite a pitch invasion taking out 6 of our 9 players (and 3 of the Dolls).

Second half with 9 players started well - with a Blitz. No chance of getting the ball as it was in the backfield again but got players in good enough position to pressure the ball carrier the following turn and force the pass. Turn two was the play of the match:-

Ball loose in a TZ and rain in the middle of my half: blitzed off the TZ, Ollie ran round to get it, ran back again and long bombed it to Alex who'd been pressing the Dolls ball carrier. Caught in the rain and run in for the score. Even WE would be pushed to pull that off in the rain.

The next kick off was again a pitch invasion, this time only stunning 5 of our players - 0 but only one Doll. Somehow managed to put up a defence and pop the ball loose. From then on it was a mad scrum for a slippery ball with neither of us gaining the upper hand.

Good game (for me at least) and a very pleasant opponent to play against. Looking forward to a re-match.”
