A good competitve game.

Started with a pretty standard Dwarven drive which saw Riagán hit Jess so hard that she couldn't regenerate. Eoghan's killer blow wasn't as effctive though, with the pile of flesh he left behind somehow reanimating into a zombie again. Riagán stalled briefly before scoring the opening TD and giving the necro two turns to score.
Some lucky dice saw the dwarfs turn the tables on defense and seize the ball back in their final turn, but a desperate pass attempt for a second TD was ruined by Pete, the flesh golem, intercepting the ball despite standing in 2 TZs and despite the pouring rain.

1-0 to the Ruffians at the break, but unfortunately Áed the Burned hadn't quite recovered from his KO in time to take part and the Dwarfs were defending with 9 v 10.

The numbers were soon evened up in the second half, and with a great kick landing deep against the sideline, and the rain making ballhandling tricky the wolves were stuck deep in the backfield. Cadeyrn struck another killer blow, though DC's Necromantic powers of regeneration were strong. Unfortunately Cadeyrn's attention to the kill was too great and he left himself open to be crowdsurfed by the ball-carrying Elih. The wolves used the sideline well and with a couple of good rolls, including a one die push/pow, they got Elih within range and seemingly ready to cross. A desperate dodge and 1 die push/pow blitz by Fáelan the Fleet (his only block of the game) was only enough to delay the inevitable, and when he was stunned by SMA's blitz the wolf was free to pickup the ball and stroll through for the score.

2 turns left and the dwarfs needed every bit of speed their little legs could muster. Things started well with them false-starting across the centre line on the kick off and mounting a fierce blocking drive down their left flank. They got Fáelan within range and Bréanainn brought the ball up the field and made an accurate final turn pass to his open runner. Unfortunately the rain was enough and with the headlines in his eyes Fáelan spilt the ball, and the game.

Twahnlows:

1 vote: Pete. =leading blocker for the BBQers. Caused the only CAS (except the self-inflicted) and an the amazing INT. If it had had more effect on the game it may have been worth another vote, but really it was a curiosity rather than a game turner.

2 votes: SMA. The stats don't show it but SMA was a crucial support act to the BOG. When the BBQers drive looked like faltering against the sideline and some stubborn dwarven resistence it was SMA who took the chance and used his 1 die block to open a hole. When the ball was loose and all seemed lost it was SMA who inflicted a crucial stun to give Elih room to score. Without his influence the dwarfs would have been celebrating tonight.

3 votes: Elih. Clearly the best of the BBQers. 23 rushing yards. The crucial TD, and even while he was carrying the ball he managed to crowd-surf the Ruffians' Captain.
