“OBBA Cup, Season 11 - Semi Final

As it turned out, this would be my last lrb4 client match with this team.

Despite the huge differences in squads, I was hopeful before the game began, but things quickly changed. Sera had 4 niggles in his lineup, and with 5 handicaps coming my way we both knew that the game could hinge on whether I got virus on him, wiping out a mummy, a ghoul, a wight and a skilled zombie. However, Sera dropped the niggled zombie and bought the Count.

To compound my misery, I didn't roll virus, and none of his players niggled pre-match. Instead I got: Bonehead (applied to mummy), Morleys (3 zombies!), Doom&Gloom, Drugs, and Bribe the Ref (I think!).

Sera received, I lined up... firmly believing I was in for a massacre. Somehow, with a combination of dodging dwarves and some sturdy armour, we stopped Sera from scoring withouth the use of my wizard, and only having 1 Bull BH'd. Result!

The 2nd half began with only 1 of 3 morleys being successful, so Sera had the pick of his squad to choose from. He lined up, and I got ready for a "hold it until I can make a break" kind of play... but was undone straight away with a Perfect Defence for Sera. This basically meant that I couldn't get out of my half. When my ball carrier eventually went down it fell straight my a free ghoul, and none of my players could get near, and the wizard missed... the game was effectively won for Sera, who stuck a few boots in to celebrate - fortunately I didn't even have to use the apoth.

At the end of the day, my team is intact and ready for LRB6.
