#12 Speechless – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Gash: Ok normally I never do this. I even kinda hate guys who do this. Since I am doing this on my opponent's behalf, and I'm taking his side, it feels less egregious. So disclaimer aside, here goes.

This game was pretty remarkable for 1s rolled by Shadow of the Phoenix. So much so that I had to replay it and go over the stats. He rolled 43 Block dice, of which 4 were Skulls; 12 were Both Down; 14 were Pushes; 9 were Pow/Push; and 4 were Pows. So 9%; 12%; 33%; 21% and 9%. Since I had no Dodge (apart from the Gob, whom the Dodge skill saved only once), a total of 30% of his hits were effectively Pow, so that's more or less on average, and he didn't suffer much from Skulls. So the Blocks were OK.

As for his d6 rolling: he rolled d6 82 times, including all dodges, pickups, armour rolls, injury, casualty, etc. I didn't count dice rolled during kick-off. Maybe I should have, but I neglected that and I'm not going back now. So of his 82 dice, 23 were 1; 9 were 2; 17 were 3; 12 were 4; 10 were 5; and 11 were 6. The odds there are 28%; 11%; 21%; 13%; 12%; and 13%.

Since the expected outcome is 16%, his results were markedly skewed to 1s. This is of course the problem with small samples. My Block dice were closer to average (with 24% POw and 15% POw/Push, I earned effective POw 39% of the time, opposed to the expected 33%). However to earn a result closer to average, I rolled 105 Block dice to his 43. My d6 were all close to 16% each, with spikes for 2 and 3 (thankfully for him these were mostly armour rolls), but I rolled the d6 161 times to his 82.

During the game his dice appeared to be bugged because of the timing of the rolls. While I rolled a lot of 1s for armour, his came at key moments:
1) Pass effort fumbled. Team reroll = Pass OK,
2) That same Pass above, now Catch effort is 1. Ball bounced back to Thrower, who caught it. No Turnover.
3) Dodge, needing a 2. Team reroll succeed; no Turnover.
4) Pass fumbled. Turnover.
5) Dodge = stumble. Turnover.
6) Pass fumbled. Turnover.
7) Dodge = stumble. Turnover.
8) GFI while Blitzing. Turnover.
9) Dodge = stumble. Team reroll succeed; no Turnover.
10) Dodge = stumble. Team reroll succeed; no Turnover.
11) Later in same move above, Dodge = stumble. Turnover.
12) Pick-up = fumble. Turnover.
13) Dodge = stumble. Turnover.

That's too many turnovers. You can't beat anyone with bad dice timing like that. Not even Halflings.
