“GLT Qualifier - Old Teams 2: Finals

I think we both did better than expected, luck-wise. We each pulled off semi-miraculous plays to keep our own sides alive.

End of the first half, we manged a slick chain push to get our ball-tank into range to score with 2 GFI and no rerolls left to tie. 1-1.

We receive in the second half. Our drive goes reasonably well, and we choose to score in T7 with a wizard hanging over our heads. With 2 turns and only 2 AG3 players remaining, we figure our odds are good to stop them. Pitch Invasion has other ideas. They pick up the short kick and rush up the field through a gaping hole in our defense. They mark/foul us to the point where a blodge BoB makes an heroic effort to blitz and POW the ball, then stand in front of it. S'n'S eschew the wizard for the 3+ with no reroll and some dodge-work/GFI, figuring to save the wiz for OT. It works, and at 2-2 we go to extra turns!

OT we lose the toss, are down 11-10 on the pitch, and are kicking. We're not optimistic. We do a good job funneling the AG4 ghoul to the sidelines though, and we make them use the wizard for what would be a couple iffy dodges to secure the game. KERZZATT!!! ...crickets. It MISSED! Saurfang kept the pressure on with Tackle/SF, and forced Wurdle de fish into trying an absolutely horrific set of dodges. The crowd throw after Wurdle face-planted went far into the S'n'S backfield, and we made the most of the scrable for the ball, dodging away with it for the score with just a couple turns left in OT.
