“Game #13
The dwarves won the coin toss and chose to receive. A blitz on the kickoff put a dent in their plan, but they had enough guard to get themselves back on target quicksmart. The Grunts were doing a great job of splitting the dwarves and isolating the ball carrier until the Troll managed to knock himself over with double skulls whilst blocking the pesky runner Faelan. A well timed stall for 1 turn gave the orcs only 3 turns to even the score. A perfectly setup drive down one edge of the pitch that was a certainty to score went bad when Imhullu failed to pass the ball accurately, the resulting scatter putting it firmly in the Dwarves hands and out of reach. A desperate gamble to get to the dwarven ball carrier worked, but left the ball in the hands of the blitzer Barashkukor, meaning the Grunts could not even the score. Careful positioning of the ball carrier for the Orc drive in the second half went for naught when a dodging slayer managed to get a 1d blitz onto the carrier, spilling the ball into dwarf territory and out of reach of the Orcs. A heroic counter blitz by Barashkukor was ended by the mighty blitzer knocking himself over on Faelan, the second player to do so this game. From there an easy run home (with standing a 2d block from a Black Orc who managed to dodge!) and the score was 2-0. A last minute attempt to get the ball to a flying gobbo to at least get a single TD on the scoreboard went awry with yet another failed throw, then a failed pickup followed by another unblockable dwarf and the game was over.

The luck between the teams was even, but coach Redgum got his luck in all the "right" places to enable his TD's, whearas coach Quod got his bad luck in all the "right" places to stop him getting his TD's. The game was much closer than the score would indicate, and alot of fun =)
