Winning the toss and electing to receive, the Bomber coaching staff kept it simple with small words for the beasts. There was no way to stop the vampire scoring machines unless you cut them off from their food sources.

Greg Battle took it to heart bashing Nameless Elf out of the game early as the cage formed up at the midfield. Nuffle was the silent inducment as the Vanquishers stumbled when Vicki Neslon failed a dodge into open field and Kate Lam skulled the next turn. Winnipeg capitalized, marching closer to the goal line than they had been in a half dozen games.

Seeking second half advantage coach PolarDragon signaled for the stall and it almost cost them. Twice Milt Stegal was knocked on his can. Nuffle waved his hand and the Mike Celluci blitz ended on another failed dodge and he went off for a pre-halftime blood snack.

Vicki Nelson battled for redemption, Obby Khan broke another thrall and in the end Milt came up with the ball and score the first Bomber TD in 4 games,

Even down 2 men to start the second half the Calgary offense could not be contained by Winnipeg. Even pinned against the sideline and with a thralls smashed by Obby Khan and killed by Chris Walby, the Vanquishers came up with the ball and scored, tying it up at 1-1.

With four turns remaining and with a 4 man advantage on the field a win was still possible, but coach PolarDragon zigged where he shoulda zagged, Chris Walby skulled a key block and nobody was in scoring range. The game ended in a messy scrum at midfield. Assisted by Nuffle, the Bombers broke their 6 game losing streak and 4 game TD drought. At the final whistle their game plan mostly executed, the Vanquishers had only two thralls on the pitch at the end of the match.
