“Wheel of Chaos - Round 1:

Facing a team without any damage skills - we thought we would be able to survive...however, the truth is we got SLAMMED! Game started bad as we double skulled - and then on second turn snaked the handoff to the gutter runner and it looked like we might give up the defensive TD - it was all Fiona - with her speed she flashed down the pitch and managed to survive some blitzs to sneak downfield. Ultimately we scored to take the 1-0 lead into the second half - and still had a deep squad...then it went all wrong. We were suffering CAS left and right and KOs as well. We stole the ball, but a POW and it was taken away. Both apoths were used...but it was 1-1...we then went 2 for 9 on KO wakeups and suddenly it was overtime and we were down to 6 players AND lost the coin flip.

Facing a full squad of nurgle with only 6 players it looked bleak...a quick snap by the nurgle put them in better position, and quickly we were down to five players. However, the nurgle did not actually pickup the ball...outnumbered 2 to 1, we took the one chance we had with Sam Axe blitzing the one presitigor off the ball, and then Fiona raced in for the 3+ pickup (burning our last RR) and raced downfield. The nurgle used a chainpush and 2 GFI to get their beast up to Fiona...and we failed to escape tentacles...but then the nurgle beast made a critical mistake by blocking Fiona...pushing her away and Fend prevented the follow-up! Free from tentacles, she raced down the pitch - out of range of the nurgle and scored the winning TD.

A game that seemed completely lost ended up a surprising victory. Sam and Fiona simply *were* the team this game...no one else really showed up. In the future going to have to have more players stepping up if we are going to have a chance to advance.
