“Slamdancers Snap Losing Streak, Bashers Snap Cryvern

The New Slamdancers broke their longest losing streak in team history, with a 1-0 win over the Big Beard Bashers.

The Bashers would take the opening kickoff, and Slick Rustychain would bring it deep into Slamdancer territory before being pushed back, and they finally taken down and ball knocked free by the combined efforts of Syltano Foxskinner, Prythos the Lost, and Quothor. The Slamdancers would be able to keep them away from the ball as the first half ended.

During that drive, Shrakor Jaggedclaw would be near-fatally wounded by a well-named Trollslayer, but was saved at the last moment by the team apoth.

The second half kickoff was brought in by Cryvern, the multi-armed offensive mainstay of the Slamdancers, who brought it through with a cage led by the aformentiond Quothor. The dwarves would take Cryvern out, but the ball went right to Quothor who brought it free, tossed it back to Cryvern, and went for the block, when Cryvern again was hit and the ball again found it's way to Quothor.

Quothor advanced it into an new cage behind Jaggedclaw and HArlath Lorg, and the broke free for the score.

On the ensuing kickoff, the outnumbered Slamdancers lost the battle at the line of scrimmage, but Cryvern was able to get into the backfield and pressure Rustychain, before a blitzing Grimm Dragonfist knocked the mutant into next week, an injury that would later turn out to end Cryvern's active playing career.

The Bashers again got the ball deep into Slamdancer territory, with a combination of running and passing, but were stopped just shy of the line. An attempt for a last minute equalizer failed as the dwarves were unable to corral the bouncing ball, and time expired to snap the Slamdancers long losing streak.
