#13 Thirur Strongleg – Broken Ribs (MNG)
First off, my apologies to Moaz75: we were soundly thrashed during our last match which also came at the hands of a wood elf team, so for this game we were truly out for redemption, and more importantly, blood.

We dwarfs won the coin toss and took to the field, with fire in out eyes and determination in our hearts. Thanks to a bad kick, we found ourselves with excellent field position at the end of the first turn. Of course, it was at this point Wardancer Rossella Soave ran up and knocked the ball free, allowing Rosa Lenzi to score a touchdown. This would wrap up turn two of the first half.

From this point forward the match just got ugly and aggressive, as the dwarfs waged war down the pitch, grinding any elf that foolishly ventured too close. Of course, all of this culminated in a spectacular fail as new runner Thirur Strongleg tripped and fell crossing over the goal line. A few more pushes from both sides, and the whistle blew ending the first half. Thirur immediately received a private "talking to" from the coaching staff.

Second half, with the wood elves on the offensive, but we dwarves came out resolute not to let this game slip away from us, so we came out hitting hard. By the end of the second turn we had the elves pinned down on their side of the pitch with a defensive wall arcing around them; and in true elven fashion, by the end of their third turn they were once again in position to score. Great dwarven frustration and rage broke as Grimmel Surefoot inflicted his first of three causalities, repaying Rosa Lenzi for the earlier touchdown with a smashed knee, as the rest of the team scrambled desperately down field to stop the elves from scoring.

We dwarfs watched in horror as elven linemen Teresa Lestani made a successful dodge and skipped merrily into the endzone... Only to fall while crossing the goal line. How's that for deja vu? The crowd threw the ball nearly to the line of scrimmage, where a detachment of those motility challenged warriors who, moments ago, we're attempting to make it down field, just happened to be standing. As luck would also have it, outnumbering the elves 3 to 1. In an amazing display of dwarven coordination, with Grimmel Surefoot spearheading the formation, vanquishing the elves in his path, and Thornbeard Orc-Breaker taking care of any sneaky attempts by the elves to attack from the rear, blitzer Fehn Silverhelm rushed 16 squares into the endzone for his first touchdown, tying the game up at one-all.

It is regrettable to mention that in the opening stage of that drive, rookie runner Thirun Strongleg suffer a self inflicted injury after an ill advised block thrown again wardancer Rossella Soave. The apothecary attempted to heal his injury, stating that nothing could be done for his poor judgement, but the injury was too severe. Thankfully, Thirun will only have to miss the next game, which should give him plenty of time to think about his sub-par performance in this match, and to reevaluate his commitment and dedication to this team.

A well placed kick to just about the endzone, compounded by the difficulty of having only five (5) players to field, cemented the wood elves' inability to score on their last play, so a few more hits, and an unsuccessful attempt by the dwarves to permanently cripple Rossella, and this match ended in a tie.

My congratulations to Moaz75, who showed great courage, and never gave up, even when outnumbered; truthfully this game should have been his. I wish him the best of luck in rebuilding his team, and hope to meet them once again, out on the pitch.
