#2 Elraraclya – Dead (RIP)
#5 Galirith – Dead (RIP)
A "friendly" match, mostly trying out tactics for prospective teams for the upcoming Rookie League XV. Bullroarer4 is a great coach, an fierce opponent, and he can really make things happen with a human team. It would have been an outright victory for him, had it not been for a turn 7 double-skull roll, sans reroll. This left the elves with enough room to dodge over and drop the ball into the hands of an awaiting linemen, who skittered off into the endzone, for the tying point.

Notes on Elves:

While AG4 makes everyone a potential threat as a thrower, or a catcher, as well as giving them a severe movement advantage through tackle zones, the trade off is AV7. You really notice the lack of armor when you're elves are getting pounded on, and are ending up sleeping on the bench, or sleeping in a wooden box. Also, the steady downpour of rain did not help. If this team survives another match with Thrice upon a Time you may expect to see them coming at you, league style.

Rain Rain Rain
in this match constant rain made ball handling hard on a rookie elf team. the poor weather conditions pushed this "friendly" match into a mud slinging brawl. I learned more about human positioning and ,unfortunatly, killing elves. Elliot tried very hard, but pro elves are very unforgiving with av 7 and few protection skills to start. pulling a tie reflects elliot's skill as a coach of which he has my respect. seeing elves on the pitch may encourage myself to try them in the future, once i break my addiction to ties with humans :)

notes on elves: a perspective

the style of elves (as there are four of them) by and large depends upon ones preference of play style. as all elves are ag 4 and have respectable speed offense is usually easy to deliver provided one has a reroll or two handy. this leads to primarily a discussion on elf defense as each elf team approaches this a little differently. both wood and pro elves favor a more zone defense rather than the marking or man up style favored by both dark and high elves. while wood elves (and the wardanceer in particular) favor the leap blitz pro usually try for the more positional sidestep blitz mark. dark (and high to a lesser extent) prefere the assist bash game with man marking against either weak or unskilled players. deciding which style of elf is a personal choice and one should try each to gain perspective in both style and flair
