#6 Malachi – Fractured Leg (MNG)
HUBBA Season 5; Division 3 - Round 1

For Decadence Inc, the game was nearly over before it started. Coach Joshua had sent a goblin out 2 days prior to the game with 150,000 gold worth of slush funds and express instructions to travel to the Colleges in Altdorf and return with a wizard. These were not hard instruction even for a goblin to follow. However, like the fabled Jack and his magic beans, the goblin managed to return 10 minuted prior to kick-off with two useless trinkets. He was promptly pulled apart and eaten my Fulgrim as a pre-game snack, but that didn't help level out the massive disparity between the teams. So off they trudged onto the field with cunning and grim determination their only weapons. Well, other than the bombs and chainsaw.

On the field the team faired better than Coach had feared. The first half was a long slow drive upfield by the orcs. Decadence had a couple of shots on the ball but could never wuite knock it free and they conceded the score just before the close of the half.
Starting the second, Joshua decided to take things into his own hands, catching the kick-off and not letting go until he was standing in the end zone after a classic rope-a-dope left the slower orcs unable to cover the width of the field. A quarter of the game to go and a great kick-off left a draw looking likely. The heaving masses of orcs packed into the stands didn't like that prospect. Their team couldn't draw against this bunch of upstarts! So they took to the field and made sure of it. The pitch invasion left only 4 of the pact standing and the orcs were able to start a drive that would ultimately lead to the winning score, despite valiant attempts to halt them on the whistle.

As the game ended, Coach can look back and be quite pleased with his side's first showing in the HUBBA. There are positives to take, but also lessons to learn. Never send a goblin to do anything...
