With both teams having already secured a spot in the playoffs and a chance to represent their country in the battle for world glory, this match was merely a matter of pride.
Shining Force were the only team to have ever managed the defeat of the mighty Bearskins, a fact that tugged annoyingly at the pride of our favourite norsemen. You don't want to tug too much at the pride of a frenzied barbarian, it may just come loose... ;)

Force got the ball rolling down the right flank early thanks to a well thrown tinny from the sidelines being caught (reroll using catch) and skolled by Kori Manbiter, who was meant to be guarding the wings.
1-0 to Shining Force, and in quick fashion...

Kori, sensing a dangerous situation developing, summoned the lads to a quick huddle before play resumed. A hurried plan was developed and a a raiding party was dispatched into the crowd to 'confiscate' all the tinnies that they could find. A few minutes later and the Bearskins had a sizable stash of halftime refreshments waiting for them in the dugout.
With renewed vigor, they returned to the field.

You know those days when the sun is high in the sky, the birds are singing, and you just gotta hit and elf with your warhammer? Yeah...

The Elves looked shaky as they prepared themselves for defence. The Bearskins looked mean. With a loose cage and plenty of fist, as is often their play, Tvarnholm soldiered their way through the dwindling Elf lines. Not wanting to score too hastily and enable the Elves another chance to get ahead, they levelled the game right on half time.

Only 8 Elves were ready to take the field for the second half and the Bearskins were understandably confident. Controlling the ball again they eagerly surged forward.
Their literal thirsts sated at halftime, they still had a mighty thirst for victory and wasted no time in putting the ball across the line! 2-1 Bearskins!

With very few Elves left ready to fight, the remainder of the game was spent reducing their numbers a little more. Hammerman and Ivar Bjarki hassled the ball carrier as he cowered near his own touchline and eventually managed to wrest the ball free for another quick score before the final siren.

With their 11th win in a row under their belt, the Bearskins look forward to their lucky 13th game as they enter the WWB Playoffs!

Great game FLo. Shame about the SIs (though you mainly did them to yourself!). Well coached as always mate.
