Their fast BCentaur took the ball and the Mutant Dwarves advanced with good control. But it seemed both them and our Elves were not up to hurting the opposition today.
Late in the half we made our attack on the cage and slowed the Cwarfs down. It seemed we had them stuck. But just as Terith Starlight and co went to take down Thunar, the second BC, and seal the way the catcher was somehow brought down instead. A puny fail for our side and it meant to Fomsil's delight he could just waltz through to score. Syrius X was also hurt by a Cwarf in the match's only casualty.
Second half a wiz bolted Speed Kills on the sidelines. Terith tried to rescue the TD chance by nervelessly picking up the ball but Death or Glory dropped the crucial handoff. Fomsil regained the ball and we just couldn't get it back off him. He made a break and three linos made chase. The first two made it but the third, Tyrion, dashed in to launch at the BCentaur and took a cruel slip at the final moment. With that chance gone it was soon 2-0.
We had a final chance for a consolation but a fumble from Tristus and then a weak block from Terith soon scuppered that. A good match but it didn't go our way.”
