“A tough match against some cursed rats. I was down two players in the first two turns, with Amazing Grape looking like she was killed until the Apo managed to turn that into a -MA wound. Using the Apo so early, burning through rerolls on so many 2+ rolls and an inability to break AV7 meant I played the rest of the first half fairly cautiously and I was unable to stop the rats from scoring twice. But as we approached the second half I killed a Journeyrat and scored a niggling injury on Gulli - much to surprise my opponent used the Apo on a fairly unskilled linerat!

The second half started much the same as the first, fumbling a hand-off from the pick-up. It really felt like the dice were against me but things slowly turned around and I stopped failing 2+ rolls. And then it started to get bloody, and rats started falling to blocks and failed dodges, with some nasty injuries rolled. Despite a thinning of the numbers, excellent positioning from Sammler_der_Seelen meant I was still only able to score 1 touchdown - and even down 4 rats it looked like I was going to concede another. Thankfully some lucky dice rolls for me meant that the game finished 2-1 against rather than 3-1.

I think I have a lot more learning to do when it comes to playing with Elves and defending against Skaven. I was completely outplayed, although my poor dice results in the first half made it difficult to counter my opponent. Still, it was an enjoyable game and Sammler_der_Seelen was both a skilled player and a fun opponent, so I'm looking forward to a rematch of some sort in the future!”
