“New team new challenges, High elves this time, they seem to have a rep as a weak team (not as bad as the rep the Underworld generally or the U-dogs specifically have) perhaps a glimmer of hope for an honourable draw to bring this losing streak to an end. However, with only 11 players able to play today that glimmer is looking more like U-dog trademark false hope and self delusion.

Match Highlights:

The Pimps receive and make a play down the wing only for my gobbos to dodge through the lines and gang blitz the ball carrier taking him down, only D’enthee fumbling and the crowd favouring them with a useful throw in saved their blushes. The Pimps manage to secure the ball and set about beating up the U-dogs before jogging in for an easy score.

At restart the U-dogs are down to 8 players on the field but attempt a LineRunner play variation regardless of the short numbers and good kick placement by the high elves. It seems more a desperation play than one seriously intended to score but somehow Laz’pler manages to blitz his way through the elven lines and sprints over for an equaliser. Half time scores: 1-1

Restart and Pimps get the drop on the U-dogs with a blitz move and score in the 2nd turn of the half. With the weather deteriorating and spirits dampened the U-dogs once more line up their 8 functioning players. They dummy up one flank only to switch the plan to the other side of the field sending Odeen-natses running for the line but he is caught by ‘John A’ the high elf catcher and brought down. Once again the crowd show their partisan nature and launce a throw in towards the high elf players who run in their third TD against limited opposition. Final score 3-1 to the Pimps, my hat goes off the their coach for a well played game and for having the sneaky idea of secreting reserve throwers throughout the crowd to ensure favourable throw ins.
