“Not my finest moment. A succession of rookie mistakes one after the other in the first half essentially handed hoyleyboy the game on the plate (beginning by setting up for defence in the first turn when I was in fact due to receive. After all, who every heard of lizardmen giving away on the ball on turn 1)? Subsequently, it was all downhill from there until the end of the half.
I played better in the second half, but I just wasn't able to overcome the combined strength and mobility advantage of the Lizardmen. And for the second game in a row, Pretty only failed the Really Stupid checks when I needed him the most. He also only made one tentacle check all game, but that was in part due to poor position at times on my part. I really need to get her Break Tackle, but given that she *still* has 0SP after eight games, that's a long way away.
Loosing Viktor (who had 5SP points) in turn 6 was quite the blow to team development. I was just 10,000 gold away from being able to buy my fourth warrior, so at least I'm not being forced to play with just two (again) but it now means it's very unlikely that I'll have a full line-up of positional players in place by the end of the season (which was my actual goal for this season).
Still, at least I've been able to start skilling up the first of my safety beastmen (Anthraxus) and my ball carrier is only two SP away from his second skill. Likewise, both the Warriors who survived the game have block and 9SPP. So the team is progressing, if far, far more slowly than I would prefer.”
