“The Rats made eliminating Grastle their top priority, going against their typical strategy of score fast, and score often. This made for a long, 6 turn drive capped off with a score by Polynesian Rat. The elves answered with a 2-turner to tie before the half.

Then the second half happened. Brown Rat continued to break elven bones, having one of the best games of his career vs the heavier armored High Elves. Still, the elven team pushed for the 2-turn TD, to take a 2-1 lead. Ricefield responded with his first one-turner of the match.

The rats then kicked again, and the elves played the ball deep in their backfield. Aiming to slow the game and play through the air, they set up a defensive wall. The rats superior speed and numbers, allowed them to move in and close the pocket. then it happened. Edsmal tripped as he tried to move away from Ricefield, and fumbled the ball. A couple blocks later and he was on the sideline for the attempted stall. Sylvester Hardfire, the loner hired by the elves before the match, attempted a tackle that forced Ricefield to score. 3-2 Rats.

Thee elves again showed their finesse, putting up another two-turn TD, despite facing a smothering defense from the rats. With only one tick of the clock left, the game was again tied at 3. Once again, the Rats lined up for a one-turner. Even a dive, taken by an elven linemen (with excellent timing I might add) wasn't enough to slow the rats, as Brown ignored the opportunity to earn a frenzy badge to push one more elf into place.

Ricefield was in position. And then, he was once more in the endzone as the clock ran out. 4-3 Rats, and the crowd erupted into a massive roar.
