“Like Jeremy Bates of early 90's tennis fame, the SPW continue to punch above their weight before the innevitable humbling.

With one of my only 2 stat increases out for the game and the niggler gone before kick off, the handicaps were crucial. Luckily they were'nt too bad. So we started with 10-9 in numbers, me with the rentd Zzharg and he with 2 freeboots and a wizard.

PMG recieved and made a mess of the easy elf td. Sadly my poor play in going for the ball rather than ball denial led to the first of many poor bounces and meant he managed to convert the td anyway.

The next drive started with his fans invading as the seemingly harmless 'bad press' made its presence felt. I played poorly as i felt most hope was gone with a wizard still up his sleeve and hence a likely turnover, but luck was with me and eventually i managed to convert the td.

The second half was largely spoilt by the huge number of KO's pmg was suffering and the fact that all seemed to stay ko'd when the whistle blew. Again my poor play wasn't punished and pmg seemed content to spend most of the half with his few players on the floor. I chanced everything for a vital skill on a hobgob to give me more ball carrying options and the game fizzled out into a dull 2-1 victory.

All in all a fun game spoiled only slightly by the opponents lack of humour and somewhat arrogant attitude.”
