“FUMBBL Minors 1300TW VI-2 Round 1:
Dwarf vs. Amazons, definitely a tough match-up for us. We kicked into the rain, but the rain didn't have an impact on the game. To start, their chainsaw was not very effective, but they were doing well with their injury dice. They had to use some early RRs which put them in trouble later on.

We were quickly missing quite a few amazon players from the pitch but we still managed to 1BD their ball carrier but couldn't bring him to the ground. We were able to pin him in defensively forcing a dodge attempt. Thanks to their depleted RRs, he failed without a RR attempt, leaving the ball exposed. We were able to scoop it up and create some separation. They tried doubling back, but we were able to secure out position and walk in on T8 for a 1-0 lead and a defensive score.

The second half started 10v10 and the kickoff resulted in us both getting the ref. We used that to foul their niggling lineman on the first turn, injuring him, giving us a 10v9 advantage. We were able to pickup the ball and after a few turns out flank the Dwarf team, securing it behind their line of defence.

They managed to surf one of our blitzers with a frenzy -2BD to 1 BD, niggling her. We returned the surf, giving their Troll Slayer a -1 Str. Not a great trade-off for us given that we will likely need her in top form to have a chance in this tournament! ... But the vengeance factor did feel kind of good :). We scored immediately after to go up 2-0 and seal the game.”
