The Raiders won the coin toss and opted to kick. They set up a 3-2-1 line with a 4-man screen. We pinned down two of their players and set up a line at midfield. They opened a pseudo-hole in the line, just wide enough for their Witch, Yercok, to get through. We promptly chained Gradishar into Yercok’s face, and he ended her career with a block. We mobbed their core, and they responded by dodging their Runner, Jones-Drew, up to Fonoti, and Jones-Drew wrestled Fonoti down with a 1d blitz. We got the ball back, Jones-Drew took Fonoti down on a half-die and recovered the ball, then failed to dodge away, stunning himself out of the play. Fonoti got the ball to Brown, and Brown was off to the races. 1-0.

In the second half, we set up a ziggurat defense. They knocked down the line and lost a player on a foul. The raiders opened a hole of sorts, dodged several players through, and ran a deep pattern, Jones-Drew with the ball. With a bunch of GFI rolls we pinned down all their receivers and blitzed Jones-Drew with Lundy. They opted not to dump-off, and Lundy stunned J-D. We won the scrum, our lineman A. Smith recovered the ball, and failed the handoff to Sambrailo, which gave a flicker of hope to the fading Raiders, but only that, as their pickup attempt failed and we got the ball to Sambrailo, who walked it in for the 2-0 win.”
