After getting the early breaks - a perfect defense kick off, an immediate casualty, and forcing Java into taking risks simply to score an early TD - I was drooling over the prospects of both annihilating his team whilst racking up a solid victory.

My over-eagerness and aggression backfired. I left holes, albeit holes which required rolling, and, while I failed key rolls whilst Java succeeded in his, I ended up getting schooled as he drilled home the advantage time and time again and I never learned my lessons. This was a heavy defeat from a game in which a much more conservative coach would have had a draw or even a victory. Instead, I got my ass handed to me and it is very sore.

The biggest compliment I can give is that this reminded me of a game I played in my earlier days on FUMBBL which received a glowing report from the opponent. I bookmarked it because I knew one day the roles would be reversed. Today was that day.

#10 Call Him Moses – Broken Jaw (MNG)
I feel that I should have seen that game and compared it to ours, but older games can't be replayed. I can say the lads faced fumbbl's best fouler and survived unscathed. This game was the coronation of the run of my trophy humans, that started out as my least favourite but quickly became a bag of fun when that crazy blitzer suddenly decided to inject himself with wardancer DNA.

I risked GFI's, I risked 3+ and 4+ dodges, leaps, you name it. Half the time it will result in a complete and utter defeat. Other times it will reverse the tide and make it worthwile. I still have a long way ahead to learn exactly when to risk, how to really position well beyond force of habit, and how to react to bad dice. These sort of games boost you confidence but teach you only to take more risks. One day I'll see a 2-1 and think, that's a game well played. Until then, you'll see me braving the storm from the roof of a car, shiny and chrome. Tabletoplically speaking.

Thanks again for the game, I look forward to the rematch.
