The first half, between Pro and Wood Elves, two of the fastest scoring teams.. turned into a full 7 turn ball scrum. The Whispers picked up the ball multiple times, and had players protecting it, to no avail. In the end, Batman and Robin did what they do, and brought home the touchdown.
The Whispers had 2 turns to score. Boom, move forward, 3 into scoring range, the Wood Elves remove the most dangerous, but leave the others; no dice, after setting up multiple 3die blocks in order to ensure that Esper Night would not only be able to score, but do so without a single GFI.. Esper fails the catch.
Second half. The Whispers do an almost identical repeat of the last turns of the first half, but this time Esper catches, and scores on turn 2. Batman and Robin move forward, badly hurt Glittering Ice, and score with several turns remaining.
The Whispers move up - in a cage of all things - confident of their ability to score.. only to have Batman come flying out of nowhere, no team re-roll available, gfi gfi leap pow CAS! and suddenly the Whispers don't have the ball. And with no thrower available, no good prospects to pick up the ball. So be it. Foggy Night, runs back, dodges numerous times and leaps over the wardancers, grabs the ball, and hucks it from the LOS all the way to Espers waiting hands in the end zone. I'm sure Batman was just as salty after that beautiful sack!
Then the Bat Mobile takes root and prevents any one turn attempt.
