#6 Joseph Gobbi – Dead (RIP)
"Hey Sisters, we played a good match but that armoured elf where very hard to beat!", Lilith started.
"Bloodbowl isn't easy, we played always with less players than the other team" Lilia continued.
"We had a good defence turn and we surprised them with our charming beauty but in our attacking half we messed a bit" staded Narcisa.
"Remember that our goal is to raise some good spirit host that are more resilient than thralls. It could be great if we could trasform our dead thralls in spirit host, they'll die often. Those tough boys simply are not trained enough" concluded Serena drinking her coup of red blood.

Remember that we play to have fun and a tie is not that bad.

CIBBL+ Y1, Spring - BWM4: round 1:

It was about two weeks ago that Lyndon the seafarer had left Lothern, setting out for the Old World on his dragonship the Serpent's Cry. He had manned the ship with young and ambitious elves looking for adventure and renown. Little did he mention his true purpose, deciding to keep his motivations to himself, at least for the moment.

The Serpent's Cry had moored on the docks of a large port city. Lyndon had heard that a bloodbowl tournament was being organized in town. During the sea voyage he had explained his crew that from now on they were to be known as the Amanar Archivists, Lotherns brand new blood bowl team! Some had reacted by raising an eyebrow, but most couldn't care less. Any means to establish a name and offer adventure would do! And of coure, being in town for the duration of the tournament would allow Lyndon to start looking for clues of his personal quest too.

Participating in a blood bowl tournament would also mean playing games, obviously. The first opponent of the Archivists were the vampiric Death Hunger. Not knowing much about the game, Lyndon contented himself with giving minimal instructions only. "Put your armour on, start hitting some guys in the face and then make use of the confusion to pick up the ball and start running it forward. It's pretty simple. I'm sure you'll figure it out by yourselves". And with that his lads entered the pitch, ready for their first game.

The Archivists started the first half receiving. Following their coach's instructions, some of the more enthusiastic elves started hitting their opponents, even knocking 2 of them out in the first turn. This lifted the spirits as the Archivists slowly advanced. Nevertheless, their armour wore them down, making it impossibile to just outrun the opposition. After a few turns the elves realized they were actually facing vampires, as several elves got strangely hypnotized.

Not knowing how to deal with this threat, the Archivists ended up losing the ball. Possession of the ball changed several times in the next turns, until Gildor Tidebreaker double skulled himself in the last turn with no reroll left. Death Hunger then managed a pass in two tackle zones to open the score at halftime: 1-0.

"This will simply not do", Lyndon disciplined his team during the break. "You need to focus more on the ball and less on the players", the coach continued. "Go and get that ball and don't come back before having scored", he added. "A bottle of Lothern dreamwine for whoever scores that touchdown!" were his last words before the second half kicked off.

The vampires received the ball in the second half. By turn three they decided to break through the Archivists' defence, but a snake on the hand-over ruined their plan. Still, the sea elves couldn't fully capitalize, when Aerys Bluescale tripped on a GFI. Death Hunger recovered the ball, only to lose it again a turn later. Now it was the vampires' turn to fail a GFI, offering excellent opportunities to the Archivists for the equalizer. Still, the scramble wasn't over. The vampires moved in from all sides and managed to cut the ball loose again. More chaos followed, with the ball switching sides twice more, until Taeron was finally able to evacuate the ball and pass it to safety into Eldain's hands, who ran in the 1-1 endscore in turn 16.

When the team left the field, Eldain was rewarded with a premum bottle of dreamwine from the captain's private quarters. He wandered off into the night to celebrate his first touchdown, quite sure he was going to enjoy this game!

First game of the Archivists and it ended in a tie!
