Good evening Blood Bowl fans and welcome to another installment of the Mordheim Legion Broadcast. My name is Merlin Oldsoul and I am in the announcing booth with my co-host “Super” Alley McCoist. For the second time this season we find ourselves in Volksgrad where the Mordheim Legion will face the White Wolves. What a glorious day to be a fan of the Legion. For the first time in years, they have made the playoffs and this will be their first playoff game under head coach Kondor.

*Cough* Sure, but due to his ineptitude, they are enormous underdogs. You would have to be a fool to bet on them. According to the league statisticians, the White Wolves strength rating is 1,450 while Legion comes in at a mere 1,170. Due to Kondor’s failure to rest his starters with only pride on the line, Legion will have to play the game without their superstar McFamous, their decorated fouling specialist Chris “Knuckles” Jones, or “The Octopus” Nick Baldwin. Further, “the Wart” Chris Worley, and Jaques MacKinnon were released to make room on the roster for a couple bodies to stand on the murder line…I mean line of scrimmage. I am happy to predict severe suffering for the Legion under the circumstances. *Cough*

Come on McCoist. You still have not found a competent apothecary to heal your lung issue? My prediction is that you stop breathing before Legion is out of the playoffs. As expected, Volksgard won the coin toss but they choose to kick this half and take the ball first in the second half. The ball is kicked to the North side of the field and Artair makes a quick move to get under it. That fellow has picked up a trick since we saw him last and he is on the ball tonight. “Two Gun” Turner gets the game started right by badly hurting the foolish rookie that lined up across from him. Murtair follows it up by injuring Nelson Darby who was standing in front of him. Bullet takes the ball behind a screen by his blitzers. Razor gives a love tap of a foul to Dakota Allen just to remind him to stand up before he gets hurt. Bullet runs to the corner behind Ballage putting him out of the reach of White Wolf blitzers for the time being.

Here comes Razor with another foul. This time on Chubb. The ref saw it but chuckled. I think he just told Razor he can do better than that weak effort. Now it is Christmas’ turn. He sees the rookie lineman on the ground and drops a descent boot on the fellow. Now that is a well paid Ref. Christmas has been ejected after his first foul attempt. There goes the man who will take home the Van Kassel award this season for fouling. If this were not a game against the Legion I would say it is a real shame.

Well look at that. The rookie blitzer just got his first cas. A solid blow from Denny “One Game” Wonder badly hurts Salesi Uhatafe. Be careful Wonder, you may find yourself a job.

As the White Wolves were threatening, Bullet chooses to step in for the first score of the match. Volksgrad will get the ball now but we have a very interesting turn of events. With four players out for the remainder of the game the White Wolves bench is eliminated. Everyone on the field now will play until the game is over or they are carted off on a stretcher. It is exactly as Nuffle intended.

*Cough* I hate Nuffle. She has screwed me more times than I remember, and that is mostly due to concussions at her whim. She is such a tease. I wish she would find something better to do. But it is the playoffs so I should expect that she would tune in like everyone else. *Cough*

It is a good kick by Kizer to the Southern sideline. Just like that, the rookie Legionnaire lineman and the mercenary lineman he brought with him are knocked out and sent to the sideline. Hundley makes the long pass to “Magic” Wright who moves back a safe distance from a potential onslaught.

The Legion defense targets the Southern half of the field while sending Wonder around the North side alone to pressure the ball. The White Wolves ignore him and go North. They set up a solid screen. Wright trips on his way to the safety of his teammates and leaves the ball on the ground. Fortunately for him he managed to push it to a place where it will be difficult for Legion to capitalize. No way to get the ball this turn but Razor fouls Wright just to make him pay for leaving the ball on the ground. Volksgrad clears the ball and gets it to Winovitch and safety.

Razor just smiles and stomps on Wrights head. In comes the apothecary to work on Wright. That guy really must be Magic as the apothecary failed to do any damage. Wright will probably come back to the game after the next kickoff. This time the ref decided Razor had been too blatant. He is show the red card and will leave the game. The stats will credit him with four fouls this match. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Meanwhile, Chubb goes after O’Daniel who refuses to fall. The White Wolves do the right thing and bracket him on 3 sides. But I do not understand what Chase Winovitch just did. He brought the ball closer to the bulk of the Legion players. I don’t think he realizes the jeopardy he just put himself into. The Legionnaire blitzers certainly see it. A solid blitz by Turnner knocks the ball free and it lands beside a pair of Legionnaires. O’Daniel will dodge free and pick up the ball. Disaster for the White Wolves. The jeering of the fans rains upon the field. Now Reigns breaks free and finally brings down O’Daniel but trips trying to reach the ball. Kizer stands up and picks the ball up again. The Ogre Max Murtair makes an icredible dodge to support him. Brown trips trying to make a desperate play for Volksgrad and time has expired on the half.

The Mordheim Legion will go into the locker room leading 1-0 over the hometown favorite Volksgard White Wolves.

*Cough* Horse droppings! I have gold on this match. This should be an easy lock. Legion Sucks! *Cough*
The second half has begun. Hudley takes the ball on the Northern sideline. The Legion rookies choose to sit out this drive in the apothecary tent. Now with a nice move Wright moves the ball behind a screen to the Southern side of the field. Legion tries to compensate but the screen is solid. On the positive side, the rookie Wonder could be the bright side of the match. He just injured Rayner. If the White Wolves advance Rayner will not be playing that match. Wright does the smart thing and goes into the endzone to tie the game at one score each.

*Cough* We have a ballgame. Suck it Legion! *Cough*

Look at this. The fans decide to take matters into their on hands and flood the pitch at the sound of the signal to start. Not a single White wolf is touched but Kizer, Artair, and the rookie Saps are all stunned by the crowd. Now that is some home town cooking!

*Cough* Yes! Go you marvelously craven fools. Go White Wolves. Do….Something! *Cough*

Turner and Wonder move to protect the ball. Munoz hurts the rookie thrower Oburn and reduces the number of Wolves on the pitch to nine. Thank Nuffle! Bullet cleanly picks up the ball and moves to relative safety. The Wolves cannot allow Legion to score again. The Legionnaires are all back on their feet again. The rookie Saps fouls Wright with several assists from his friends. Wright will leave the game but the ref signals for Saps to leave too. That is ok as it is a good trade for Legion. Eight Wolves left on the pitch. Legion is just trying to get Bullet into scoring range. The Wolves are frantically trying to mount a defense but lack the numbers to do it properly. O’Daniel hits Dakota Allen putting a third niggle on him and reducing the Wolf numbers to seven. Bullet is well screened.

The Bullet will score as time expires! Legion pulls off the improbable. They have gone into Volksgrad and beaten the White Wolves for the second time this season. Look out Volksgrad, the hooligans will be on the lose tonight. Lock up your homes and post a guard at the door. Volksgrad may just go up in flames.

As for the Legion, they have to wait to find out who they will play next. My guess is that they will be on the road against the Vikings but there is a lot of Blood Bowl to come before that is decided. For now I must sign off for the Mordheim Legion Broadcast. This is Merlin Oldsoul and Alley McCoist bidding you farewell until the next game wherever it may be.

#3 Raynard Rayner – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
#13 Nelson Darby – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
#15 Dakota Allen – Serious Injury (NI)
Uncomprehensible stall by Wolves ! A pure demonstration of how to flush a nice DLE season with a coach bone-head during the wild cards

Sneaky Christmas sent off for his first foul in the first turn

One good point, "Magic" was -AV saved by a good apo at the end of first half

Thank you & congrats to coach Kondor who had a good match despite a team very weakened by MNG
