#3 Biranluct Happydive – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#3 Biranluct Happydive – Smashed Knee (NI)
#9 Mighty Treesniffer – Dead (RIP)
Redux got off to a good start and actually had a numbers advantage early in the match after picking up a few casualties early on. Things got ugly in the second half though when my apoth failed to prevent Biranluct from picking up his 3rd niggler. And then to make matters worse as the Redux were setting up to try to take the lead, a horde of fans stormed the field and brutally murdered Mightty Treesniffer.

I think this game might have been the deathnail for the Redux. Despite having a one turn scorer, a +STR treeman, and a decent fan factor it will probably take too long to return to competitive form.

When the Redux challenged us to a match, all we could do was stare in awe and fear at his str 7 blocking treeman, shivering a little. As well we should--the first block that monster threw (an unassisted 3d block vs a str 3 character!!!) resulted in Firiel badly hurt. However, this tree tried to do too much to take the team onto its broad branches, as failed gfi's twice caused turnovers on blitzes falling prone at my elven feet. (Much to the sighing gratitude of whatever wood-be victim Big Beech was targeting!)

In the end, it became a duel between his one-turner and our wardancer. Haranavel scored the hat trick, earning his next skill in the process, while Punch was out to prove himself in all sorts of ways, including breaking the leg of Vilana, who'll rest up this week under the expert care of the team's elven healers, catching up with the team next game. Back and forth the scoring went, as did the cas caused by each side. Biranluct suffered his third niggling injury under Eirik's block, the apo failing to keep the twice-niggled player intact. We scored to tie the game at 3, but then the crowd decided to lend it's hand with a massive pitch invasion, stunning 4, ko'ing another and killing one of his blodging passblockers. This left his treeman and two others standing, and though Beech made a valiant run, he was summarily surrounded by guarding woodies who were able to "Timber!!" him down.

We managed to MNG his one-turner, but decided to stall a turn anyway, to secure the win. It was almost a big mistake, as his blodger was able to make some drastic dodging look easy en route to a 1d block on the ballcarrier, knocking him over and taking posession of the ball, and I without a tackle or strip ball skill to be found. Our victory had been snatched away from us...or had it? There's one all-powerful strip ball skill we could still employ--the crowd! A couple pushes later, they obligingly threw the ball back out onto the pitch, nicely within reach of Eirik, who could toss the winning touchdown pass to go along with his two cas.

Sorry for the carnage to the team, Frannie88. I still consider you one of the best persons on fumbbl, and a coach I enjoy playing against whenever possible. Hope you won't hold the state of your team against me...
