What a debacle!

After two brilliant performances against teams +TR40 up on them, the Wraithlords were eager to have a chance at showing up the more fancied opposition yet again.

On the other side, the Woollongong Warriors must have either been edgy about the new team on the block, or they had decided it was time to put them in their place. Whichever reason it was, it saw the Mighty Zug hired and thrown into the fray against some very green (literally) opposition!

The game was over as soon as the 'lords saw his massive bulk waddle onto the park. Although Zuggie really didn't do much himself, he had the elves flinching at the sight of their own shadows half-expecting the big ogre to be bearing down on them! With an alarming lack of grace, they managed 0/2 catch attempts and 1/4 ball pickups (with rerolls) and a dodge fail of almost 50% in the first half.

The worst effected was Trojan. Drugged out on coffee, his initial burst of energy ran out and saw him fail 3/4 gfi's on important blitzes in the second half. Quite probably in an effort to dodge his own Zug-like shadow. It's amazing how alarming your own shadow can become with a little imagination.

All said and done, despite the comic tragedies...the score found the lads still only 1-0 down at the half. And then the Woolongong Warriors joined in the antics in the second half, leaving a myriad of squandered opportunities for the Wraithlords to equal the score. But alas, several more ball pickups and failed blitzes later, both teams were still running around in circles in the middle of the field...completely unable to do anything with the ball. Perhaps someone exchanged it for a greasy wombat at half time.

And in the world of the bizarro, it just goes to show tha despite having an absolute shocker for both teams - you can still have an interesting game right up until that final siren!

#8 George 'sampson' Samuels – Dead (RIP)
Thought that we were going to have a walk over victory for once this season but alas even with zug on the line an early block saw George samuels killed with a failed apoth, he will be sadly missed. Amazingly bad rolls also by the fallen ark in the first half, but my team was unable to score any lasting damage either. The second half degenerated into shear sillyness with the ark having several chances at equalising against the odds yet failing just as much as the warriors. A game that wasn't supposed to be interesting turned into solid entertainment.
