“Outclassed and outplayed! We certainly met our match on the field and were very lucky to do a houdini and get away with the game. First half saw us fall flat on the first turn, fail everything and leave the ball wide open for the Beasts. It then turned into a grim struggle for 8 turns - forced the ball to scatter three times and each time it fell into the hands of a hungry Beast! We got embroiled in a massive scrum (one day I'll learn not to fight tooth and nail for the ball when it becomes too dangerous!) and the Beasts finally cleared it, rumbling both Vanguard guarders and running in the try in turn 8. The elves had moments of brilliance, but could never swing the momentum - just ended up stalling the inevitable try for 7 turns. Brilliant use of sheer strength and judicious blocking (to knock off the guarders) by Joe to clear the try.
Second half began looking ominous. The Vanguard had nothing to counter the strength of the Beasts and the Beasts also had the advantage of the drive. Nuffle had a trick or two for us though. A blitz and a quick score, then a failed pickup on the next drive saw Hopp'n flashing downfield looking to upset the balance of the game! She was all bluff though - promptly stunned and then carted shortly after! So it turned into an incredibly tough fight trying to get the ball back off Blacker Angus. We eventually got the ball away but with just enough time for the Beasts to try and equalise...Turn 16 and it all came down to one 3+ roll!
Great tension! Definitely the most exciting match in the Vanguard's history. Very unlucky for Joe, a draw would have been well deserved.

Only lad on the team with tackle and he flailed about with happy abandon for most of the game. Always in the action and the couple of times we had to make an important blitz on him he sat there looking idyllically oblivious to our efforst. Also one of the Chaos Warriors who stuck a hand up in the middle of the scrum and had a scattering ball stick to it.

Although he ultimately lost the ball and conceded the winning try, Blacker Angus pulled some fantastic moves backfield in the second half and was incredibly difficult to put down.

Grabbed the scattering ball late in the first half and smoothly ran it downfield to finish the completion that sealed the first try for the Beasts.
“What can i say except bloody hell i forgot i gave Lucius Strip ball at the crucial moment that it might have made the difference. Ah well, my silly eh?
On to the Votes,
3 pts - #14 Hopp'n M'Broomstick, who could be counted on to put me at me wits end and always present me witha difficult tactical problem? the sidestep duo of the Witch sisters of Hopp'n. Broomstick gets the three forstaying in whole game.
2 Pts - #9 Hopp'n Mc'Cauldron the Hopp'n sisters gave me the irrits all game. This one prob didn;t deserve what happened. has the two points for being bloody annoying. was glad to see it off the pitch.
1pt - #5 Storm Warden tough choices here lots of one percenters and tryers on this team but i decided on Storm Warden here because he was a cheeky cuss ad also got one of the cas for the game. First drive the blighter trys to set up a chain push into the crowd, only upset from getting this by wacking a little too enthusiastically and knocking the poor beastman down.
Was damn fine hard game. pity i oopsed at the end there but damn fine game nonetheless. just have to make sure i wins me next three to have a chance at avoiding relegation again. although with the number of nigglrers i now have gonna be no trouble going under cap again....”
