“SWL Season XII - Commissioner Twahn Memorial Regional League - Round 5

Freaky weather this match, we saw everything bar a blizzard during the game!

First kick-off, pouring rain. The Dreadbeards were receiving, and we all know how much dwarves like the rain (sarcasm). With a small advantage in numbers on the pitch, we managed to tie up the dwarf cage, bringing it to a complete standstill.

It didn't take too long for the ball to start bouncing around in the mud, and eventually Elbow Kikka ended up with the ball. Seeing that there were two dwarves in the KO box, and only one in our own, she decided to wait it out ... which resulted in a crowdpush on Little Runna who was promptly torn to shreds by the Dreadbeard fans.

Coming out for the second half, we realised that there were only 8 orks left on the field, and 9 dwarves to take on. This was going to be tough, especially with the rain. The weather, however, turned fine (obviously that wizard we hired does more than cast lightning bolts)! A solid defence put us in a tight position, And there were a couple of close calls. Some fairly fortunate blocks gave Big Chukka a passage along the sidelines right past the dwarvish defence. It was a fairly lucky play for the orks, bring the score to 2-0, and also ensuring a win.

Another kick-off, and the weather changed again! This time, with the rain gone, the weather turned from "fine" to "sweltering heat". It was going to be very tough for the dwarves to make another TD, especially when their runner was hit by a lightning bolt before he got halfway up the field. Throat Rippa saw that it was her chance for a TD, with a bit of luck, she actually made it!

Now, the weather cycle wouldn't be complete without the sun, and for the final turn of the match, it changed again, becoming very sunny ... which ruined any chance of a completion for the poor pirates.

Not only did he inflict a casualty, this troll slayer was also responsible for the death of Little Runna. He certainly put in the effort this match, striking out at orks left right and centre!

John did a solid job of tying up my players, and certainly knocked a few down. He was quite the gentleman, realising that it would be very bad manners to hit a girl (too hard), so, although he certainly got in the way, and even knocked a few down, he never did anything too nasty to the poor ladies.

Well, without him, the Dreadbeards would have been in an awful lot of trouble. He did manage to pick up the ball, and took it a decent way up the pitch, but always ended up finding someone there to block his path.”
