“Semin finals of the Golden Ghal Maraz II.

Strongly reduced in numbers and strength, the rats entered this game with 10 players to field. Their chances were low to begin with, but the hopes were on the two runners they could field, one of them the one-turner.

The game started out pretty well. We received first, and even were stalling. The Chaos team gave us the chance to stall another turn, the one-turner just had to run from the downside of the field up, needing 2 gfi, and failing the 2nd despite the use of a reroll. The ball was free, but to far to pick it up, 2 beastmen laid tackle zones on it. Well, it was a 50% chance to pick up the ball, but it failed despite reroll. So my one-turner went crowd-surfing (nothing happend luckily!) and the Chaos team was able to score in turn 8.

In the second half the Soul of corruption scored easily and they started hitting ever harder. Thrower and team captain Otto Oberhausen received a -ST SI. Shortly after that the RO rolled double pow/skull, was knocked over and niggled, but saved by the apo. Only one or two turns later the AG5 two heads runner Grashüpfer was killed. Despite all this mayhem the team gathered all their courage, and scored an elf-like TD late in half 2.

Sadly, the Ruhrpott Ratten could not repeat their last year victory in winning the first ever Golden Ghal Maraz. This year the opponents were just too bashy and the rats too weak. In only 2 games the team was reduced from TR/Str 193/190 down to 175 / 142. Maybe they can rebuild and enter the fight for the city one day....
